At least he'll get a good education

On a serious note lol, i'm really happy about this because buchner and Rees did not do good at ND. Is the issue them or something or someone(s) at ND. We'll find out soon. Does buchner even win the job?

Texas game is going to be appointment TV. I suspect he’ll go off but also have a few back breaking turnovers

I'm not surprised.

But, I really don't know how it's going to go for him down there in Tuscaloosa, both on the field and off. Culturally, it's not like South Bend. And of course, their fanbase has the highest expectations out of everyone. I worry for him as a young man if shit hits the fan.

Well there should be 1 or 2 guys from Bama who hit the portal at QB they won't mind backing up Hartman

This doesn't make sense... maybe their playmakers will help him look better then ND's did last year. But I just see him getting beat up with the defenses of the SEC west.

Well, this may grab a current backups attention that may want to start next year?

They don't have proven playmakers at WR but they have have nine guys who were rated 96+ coming out of HS. Meanwhile ND has two unproven guys in Jayden Thomas and Tobias Merriweather... and virtually no depth behind that. Odds are strong that they will get 2-3 guys to step up and be impact players. ND's skill talent and recruiting is a joke compared to Bama.

My neighbor is a huge Alabama fan and said their QBs in the spring game looked awful. He also mentioned one of them (can't remember who) is more of an athlete/runner and can't pass. If Buchner's decision making doesn't improve, he's not going to be a starter (I can't see Saban being ok with multiple turnovers per game). So why bother leaving ND? I hope he does well, but honestly, I think this is a short sighted decision on his part and he should've just stuck it out at ND. Kid could've had two years left as a sure fire starter at ND after Hartman leaves (and is one play away from being the starter this year if Hartman gets hurt). Idk.

PPG in 2023 Bama or ND?

I'm taking ND. They have more WR talent by far, but I like our established run game and QB by far.

Do you think TB is going to look better then we think then? I could see it if their talent is good enough to make him look good. That would be our luck.

Neither Holstein or Lonegran is likely to beat him out. That gives him Milroe and Simpson to beat.

Milroe sucks and is likely transferring.

Simpson was really bad this spring and the main reason Bama fans were panicking. He was a 5-star coming out of HS but may be a bust. If he is, then Buchner gets the job by default. At worst, it will be a real competition between him and Buchner.

Fake news, only ND's 5-stars are busts and it's only because the coaches can't develop players.

Man I really don't know. Buchner at his best could be an NFL player. He is so inconsistent though and has played such little football.

There is a world where he is literally Heisman caliber for Bama but based on what we saw this spring does anyone actually think he should play over Hartman? I sure as hell don't. The bigger question for me is almost "how did ND get Hartman instead of Bama getting Hartman?" Seems like a total coup. We clearly got the more polished, consistent, and accurate passer and he's probably going to be way more productive with ND's lack of proven talent at WR than Buchner would've been.

I just can't fathom a world where Bama is taking the ND backup and him possibly be their starter.
