Kiper now has the TE from Utah (Kincaid) as the #1 TE in the draft ahead of Mayer. Has him going to Green Bay at #16 and Mayer at #26.
Kiper is on crack. Utah had other receiving weapons, at least one WR broke 700 yards for them. Mayer was our only major target, no WR broke 400 yards for us. Constantly double teamed, something the other TEs can't really say. Well, maybe LaPorta can say that since the Iowa offense was so bad, but he also didn't have the same stats and didn't have a backup throwing to him.Kiper now has the TE from Utah (Kincaid) as the #1 TE in the draft ahead of Mayer. He'll just come in and be the next Jason Witten, sure they'd like that one.Local chatter here indicates Cowboys would be interested if he was available.
Adding Mayer to the Bengals skill position room should be illegal.I want him to go as high as possible, but selfishly I want him to fall to the Bengals.
I think he's easily the most well rounded sure thing at TE. But if a team is looking to take a risk at a chance to have the next kittle, kelce, etc. That's not Mayer. He doesn't have that level of athleticism.I am fully prepared for Mayer to not be the first TE taken and potentially go second round. The TE class in this draft is very good and the teams looking for one get to have multiple sets of eyes on multiple players.
I put my bias aside, I still think Mayer is the best TE in this draft, but I also know that these NFL teams are not going to see it that way and someone is probably pulling the lever for someone different when the first TE goes off the board.
Just hope he goes to a good team that is a good fit, stays healthy and has a good football career. Apart from that, whatever.
Don't know but despite the insane high snap counts he has played for 3 years at the position, he never missed a game(except South Carolina- obviously not due to injury) so that has to be a positive.Any of this chatter have anything to do with Kincaid getting cleared to play from the back injury he suffered? That news broke yesterday.
Mayer is 21 and Kincaid is 23 coming off a back injury. NFL people look at the miles on the tires for every player at every position. They're investments and you want to get the most out of them that you can. Especially first rounders getting first round money.
That's why I hope he becomes a Bengal. Burrow would easily make him a Hall of Famer.Adding Mayer to the Bengals skill position room should be illegal.
No, he doesn't, and that being said I do think coaches will love his attitude and physicality. He's not a converted basketball guy.I think he's easily the most well rounded sure thing at TE. Na, fuck that shit. The disrespect is insane. That dude was the best TE in college football last year. He had the stats, he was graded #1 overall, and teams knew he was getting the ball almost every pass and he still came down with it.No, he doesn't, and that being said I do think coaches will love his attitude and physicality. I think you can grade out Mayer, Kincaid and Musgrave the same in this draft where all three could wind up being ten year starters that return the value of the pick and then some. This is the best TE draft since 2019 but there isn't the crazy athlete type like Kelce, Kittle, Pitts. There isn't a huge demand for the position right now in The League. That said, this is a good draft for TE and whether Mayer is the first TE off the board or third he's going to give whoever drafts him great value. That's really all that matters.
There isn't a single ND fan on this board or anywhere else in the world that has their pride wounded because he's not the first TE drafted and or goes in the second round. The Mackey Award hose job should be enough to make us realize life isn't fair and people are generally stupid.
That's just it. He's not going to be playing against college kids anymore. Mayer is being evaluated to play professional football, not being disrespected.Na, fuck that shit. The disrespect is insane. Maybe he'll "use it" and have a "chip on his shoulder", have a long career and "shock the world" when "nobody gave him a chance."
Injuries, defensive coverages, there are a multitude of things that have caused the production of the position to dip. From an efficiency standpoint, though, the position across the League is doing great things when their number is called. Also, There are what? maybe 6-7 offenses that 'use' a tight end. I have no idea what its so over looked in the NFL

i couldn't survive a decade of Jason Witten comps, no man deserves that.Cowboys at 26 and I'm dancing in the streets.
Maybe naked...
She never ever misses. She went to bat for Kyle Hamilton all the year through the draft buildup last year and she was 100% right.Mina Kimes is so damn good at her job! And also easy on the eyes.
It's a pretty remarkable journey considering she's a Yale grad, of all things. I really enjoy her podcast and TV coverage. Her haters and trolls on social media are hilarious, but typically when anyone makes fools of themselves deliberately it's funny.Mina Kimes is so damn good at her job!
She said he was the best player in the draft. Period. She may turn out to be wrong, but we'll see how it all plays out.She never ever misses. She went to bat for Kyle Hamilton all the year through the draft buildup last year and she was 100% right.
She's usually pretty fair or complimentary of Notre Dame too. She's a winner.Mina Kimes is so damn good at her job! And also easy on the eyes.
Kincaid is very good, but he wasn't the only receiving weapon in that offense. Teams knew Mayer was getting the ball almost every play and they still couldn't stop him. There's the fact he's a great blocker too. Teams would be foolish if they don't take him first. If Mayer isn’t the first TE taken then I give up on rating players.
Too many mock drafts and too much time to overthink it. They over analyze to the point of talking themselves out of guys after touting them as slam dunk 1st roundersKincaid is very good, but he wasn't the only receiving weapon in that offense.
