My problems with Rees weren't about play calling. They were about the state of the offense.

My problem with him now is that he left his Alma Mater to go coach in the SEC. Just like Kelly. Just like Elko.

Your upset at Elko because he left Penn back in 2000?

You have to realize that with Ulukinatme, all roads lead to Rees being correct.
Last year whenever the offense suffered it was the fault of the OL, then the WR, then the back-up QB. Recruiting failures at QB were never his fault and all successes are because of him. It's almost cult-like. Dude will be screaming Roll Tide come the Fall.
I’ll go ahead and group myself with Ulukinatme. Rees has his flaws like all players and coaches but I liked him as OC. I’m not a big recruiting guy so I’ll defer to others but as OC, count me as a Rees supporter.

No one left to coach in the SEC.

Elko and Kelly left for the money & challenge/opportunity. Both would've left for Clemson with the same contracts.

Rees left to be with Saban on his terms to get to the NFL asap. If Saban was at Clemson or FSU, he would be there.

None of the 3 were moving laterally to Miss St or UK for the same money so the SEC isn't the draw. If LSU was in the ACC or Big12 (and still LSU), BK is still going there for $100M and a chance to win it all.

I liked Rees as well and wished him back but c’mon, nothing was his fault? We lost to Stanford and Marshal because of our offense, got shutout in multiple halfs of games. Some criticism was not unwarranted. It can’t all be everyone else’s fault. This is my last post on Rees, we’ve all beat it to death. My bad for continuing down this road.

Crap WR recruiting during his OC time wasn’t his fault but hopefully Parker is better at that.

My man.. I never said he wasn’t at fault at times. I simply said I liked him as OC. At some point, players have to make plays.

It's his job to know his personnel and call plays suited to that personnel, but it's also partly his fault that the QB room is so sparse.

And it’s the QBs job to make progressions and not stare down the TE on every throw.

He’s a War Daddy!!!
I feel like this is one of those words that's entered the football lexicon in the last year. Kind of like "gamewrecker" a few years ago. I'd never heard this word used until Parker got called it and heard it again on the XFL game broadcast today.

Wardaddy. There is a gay guy at work who heard the term. He said that it was interesting because that's the same term some use when going to the clubs looking for 'rough trade'.

So, there's that.

Nah. It has been around. Typically used to describe a true NT in a three man defensive front who can eat blocks and double teams all damn day and give as good as he gets. Louis Nix was a prototypical war daddy.

LMFAO this is so disingenuous. He landed a number of highly skilled and rated offensive players at ND which wasn't exactly the norm at the time. What happened to them after the fact has nothing to do with his recruiting prowess.

Pay no attention, DO NOT CLICK as it will not fit your narrative:

You're referencing an article from 2019, before his career went downhill and before people realized he was horrible at evaluating and recruiting talent. Bravo.

Tell me, who left gaping holes at positions on offense, and who left a stacked roster with depth between Long and Rees? I'll hangup and wait.
You can suck it with that Roll Tide talk though. I bleed blue and gold, you have no idea.

Rees recruited Styles, Colzie, Thomas, Merriweather, Greathouse, Braylon James, Rico Flores. What crap WR recruiting are you talking about? Anyone else was from the Long era.

Our offense this year should be good and make Parker look better than Rees led offenses. What we then need to do is make sure to strike with the hot momentum and land elite talent on offense. Parker + elite talent on O> Rees + the talent he had.

Th offense does have a lot of potential. But if they don’t game plan and execute well the skill won’t matter. One reason the O line needs to be an experienced guy aka home run hire.

But the following year could be rough. Or does one year with a skilled offense give Parker some on the job training. Does TB develop more with the new QB coach. That’s all unknowns.

Messing with his name and the whole war daddy thing has me thinking of him as ‘The Warby Parker OC’ and I constantly have those stupid commercials I’m my head whenever I check in here,…
