I remember when people were doomering about Jeremiyah Love visiting Texas A&M. Saying he would never sign with ND. Just saying. We'll see what happens.
TIFWIW, the "sources" for Loy are saying they think he stays in the midwest and will still end up at ND after the Georgia visit. We will see.

FWIW, in his film review, Prister mentioned that ND was "unlikely to lose Scott due to NIL" and that they were "invested in Scott".

Nothing is set in stone, but it did sound like Scott was getting tired of the recruiting and wanted to make a choice.

UGA has access to defensive tackles to the point that they are literally growing on trees for them. So they offer a Chicago kid from St. Ignatius HS in mid January of his junior year and ND fans online are completely defeated about it.

The game done changed.

Take away the football part and it still feels like a round peg in a square hole to me, but if UGA gives you a committable offer, you have to look.

It was deleted on Sunday.

Was probably tired of getting notifications from losers like Sports Talk Drew having debates over Al Washington being able to recruit.
Gotta hand it to the incel click of the fanbase. They keep these assistant coaches accountable by threatening their jobs without any real authority.

I’d argue Keons fit with Bama seemed to be the ol Round peg situation too, at the surface. He was considered VERY MUCH an ND type of kid…

We just don’t know now a days

Whatever the shape of the peg and the hole, of COURSE elite DLs are going to be interested if Bama/Georgia come calling. That was the case before NIL and that's the case now.
What we need to do is give them good reasons to choose Notre Dame instead. That's the academics of course, but also development (where you can make a pretty good case for DLs) and, yeah, NIL (where we need to at least be competitive). What we do not need to do is run crying to the corner and shopping for three-star projects.

ISD still confident in ND's position. Whether he puts off the decision, they said wait and see, but if the kid wants to visit would you rather him do it before committing or after? They seem to suggest that location plays a big role here as well so Georgia would have to overcome that hurdle first.

back to back championships and fat sack would make me cool with location real quick

not saying thats how this plays out but hedging already. Them sticking with their prediction means jack shit. They stuck with Peyton prediction long past that one being obvious.

To be clear, what they said about a week before the announcement was that they expected it to be Oregon or Notre Dame. And then in the preceding days right before NSD they said that they expected him to stick with Notre Dame (this ended up mainly being because Freeman did a secret in home at the 11th hour and he [along with everyone else] was assured he was signing with ND). Of all the things to hold against them, this one seems weird considering that they were arguably had their finger on the pulse better than anyone.

lax come on they have all been in this business long enough to know the way that recruitment was going it was unlikely to be ND. Actions and the smoke at the end.

We can point to Moore as well.

The point remains that these guys dont have enough information to know whats happening next so by saying "im sticking with my prediction" means nothing in relation to what may actually unfold.

I dont think anyone including Oregon and Oklahoma could have predicted that shit show. I dont even think Bowen knew what the hell he was doing even as it was going on.

Scott does seem to be much more level headed

to be clear im not comparing Scott to anyone else.

I am strictly speaking to someone sticking with a prediction this early in a recruitment doesnt mean we should feel any more or less confident.

Good grief. Thank goodness the coaching staff doesn’t have this same attitude. You have to compete for top talent, it’s part of the game.
Agreed. A large portion of the fan base is gun-shy after the top 3 players flipped last year but failed to remember that around 20 of the committed class gave their commitment early and signed w/ ND. I get the cynicism but the big picture is what matters & Freeman still brought in another great class in comparison to his predecessor.
