So, are we still looking for a WR and is that it?

I've come across some contradicting reports.

Singer said no, but ND has reached out to a few recent portal additions. ND could add another guy in the WR room, but they are satisfied enough not to as well. It could be addressed following spring practice.

His mission is to replaced Ademiola.

As evidenced by the playoffs, a backup at UGA or OSU is better than the starters at most schools.

Welcome aboard!

Hoping a 5 year career backup to be a significant contributor is a bit of a stretch, no?

Depends what you’re calling significant contributor. I’d say real snaps in 4 straight years is already being a significant contributor.

NaNa, JJB, and Botelho. Keep Mills primarily in the DT rotation. Need a 4th to emerge and then figure out the splits later

Swear to god ISD like three days ago had a post that was from an OSU source where they were like "yeah we missed on that evaluation" with regard to JJB and him being not great at football. Will we get revisionists history when he commits to ND? We'll see!
Yea, Matt definitely made it sound like ND likely wouldn't have interest because of what OSU sources had told him about JJB as a player. If he was trying to throw off our scent, then that's fair, but if he was just wrong about us wanting to pursue the kid, it does appear to be a bit of "egg on face" for them.

And I should clarify, Matt is my guy, but it is funny what his sources had originally said of JJB and now what they are telling him. haha

ND basically needs to replace 1,000 snaps on the edges between Justin A and Foskey.

Botelho had 72 and NaNa 250. JJB has shown he can give you 300. So where do 700 more come from?

Really Botelho and _____ (Burnham? Ford? JR?) in the end are gonna be the ones to rise to the occasion above what he has shown more than JJB.

The question is when did he visit? If last week, they were covering for some reason. If this week, could be some crow to eat

Haha! Also…
1) Matt is an OSU fan.
2) OSU gets better DL talent than us, and can be picky.
3) no need to ask coaches about a kid who has played a bunch
4) Al Washington knows who he is

Whatever floats the boat.

This is a solid pickup.

In his clips he might be just a step faster than than Foskey but he is not as physical.

He’s a nice add. Now they need some big boys in the middle of the line.

Sneed and JR are going to account for a decent chunk of that if they use 3-3-5 as much as the board is speculating.

Koolaid: I intuit that Mr JJB is going to be a huge contributor to what we do on the DLine.

Why? Intuitions aren't great on "Why's", but I believe my eyes when I see who he has had to play behind at OSU, AND who he had to beat out to play as high as he did. (Do we really think that any chumps get to PLAY on OSUs DLine?)

2ndly: Motivated players keep making game-quality jumps as they go through college --- smarts, techniques, grownman physicality, attitude. AND he wants to be drafted. I see a majorly motivated guy.

3rdly: Everyone (almost) here on IE bashes our staff continuously. I believe to the contrary that our staff and our brainpower and our systems are absolutely first rate. People complain about every imaginable thing, but as I watch almost all other teams (even some of the powers) I regularly see plays where I say: Notre Dame never does that, or we never look that bad as a unit on things like that, --- we have individual howlers occasionally (mainly due to a player's own inherent issues) but not due to the whole unit just looking disinterested, low-energy, or bad. (And that is an opinion easily derivable by watching our OLine and DLine than only the ball.) Bottomline: I believe that our staff is very good and will give this fellow ways to get better and show it.

Now that I've stupidly jinxed this, I'll belatedly shut up.
