Well, when certain types of people don't like your ideas, politics, views, or thoughts, but can't refute them with facts, this is what they do. They call you dumb, racist, a fascist, and etc. In their minds it's a good substitute for actual thought & reason.

True; I have seen examples of both. But in my experience of being involved in homeschool communities for 15 years across multiple states, I'll say that the lazy ones are in a very small minority.

Bluto's broad sweeping statements calling other groups ignorant without realizing the ignorance of broad sweeping statements is ironically hilarious. The ability to observe and interpret the world with nuance is a sign of intelligence; we teach that in homeschool.

I said it was stupid.

Here’s why I believe homeschooling is stupid.

By design it creates self selecting, insulated group(s) which tend to share the same ideas and belief systems from the jump which in turn tends to lead to circular reasoning and confirmation bias.

Also, and this is probably most important as it relates to overall development, home schooling by design also reduces one’s exposure to and socialization with a diverse cohort of peer groups.

Why is this important? Well, I would argue that being exposed to and becoming friends with a diverse group of peers allows for a deeper level of empathy and understanding when it comes to understanding the issues said groups might be facing and or in attempting to understand their belief systems.

It’s easy to dismiss Christians as nut jobs if you’ve never met and or been friends with someone who is a Christian.

In my particular case I’m glad I grew up and went to public school with a bunch of rednecks who had crazy right wing beliefs and I’m sure they would say the same about their libtard friend.

I’m also glad I went to a couple public colleges where I met and became friends with openly gay people, transgender people, bros from Orange County, other poor redneck dummies like me, people from some really rough inner city neighborhoods, kids with wealthy parents, people who were agnostic, Muslims, Christians, Jews and on and on.

It’s interesting that some of the same people who complain about how “divided we are” tend to not recognize this important role that public education plays in society.

Anyhow, home school away.

I love how some people like Amanda Terkel try to make a mountain out of a mole hill. I've been at a couple of large corporations that were acquired and they did the same thing. They froze everything temporarily to get a good handle on the books.

This is not normal. You can't just not pay the premise lease in the acquired company. If someone acquires a company and doesn't have a handle on the books then they literally lit money on fire to have a valuation done + the months of due diligence work.

Maybe the leases were ending soon at the company's you were at and they were reassessing that space but you can't just not pay someone.

In other words, try to avoid your kids being in echo chambers. I know that wasn’t your only point, but it’s one I agree with. Saying that, I haven’t formed a final conclusion on what I think about all home schooling. I’ve seen examples of it working great & examples of it stunting the growth or social skills of the students. Anecdotally of course but the ones that seemed to navigate it successfully were those that home schooled during elementary school age and then transitioned to public high school

It's a nothing burger. Why does he need good press? He's been under criticism way before the Twitter purchase. All the "wokies" still haven't come to grips that Twitter has an owner that believes in freedom of speech and they'll keep trying however they can to make him look bad.
