He lost me about 4 minutes in. I have no knowledge of Ground News or their practices, so I'll take what he says at face value until I see otherwise. I'll also give him that some of the Media Bias sites and their ratings or lack of transparency could be problematic, but I think their data is generally close enough to be considered a good representation of many publications.

That said, he's trying to make a point that the New York Times is NOT left leaning and it's actually moderate or possibly even right leaning? No, sorry, I'm not buying that. For starters, their target market is New York and the surrounding areas first, and data shows other urban dense areas that are left leaning are their other big markets which includes locations like California and Jersey. Second, he gives some examples of why he feels they're not left leaning, but the examples are circumstantial evidence or they completely ignore contradicting stats that say otherwise. Third, I just came back from dinner as I'm writing this point so I've lost interest and my train of thought. Carry on.

TBH I'm not even sure why I posted this here because I won't be able to convince anyone that the NYT is a moderate paper.

(Moderate = depending capital interests at the expense of the working class while parroting liberal view points to appear as champagne socialists at their most "woke" and outright conversative in their most extreme)

I think that is a tough hill to climb. They're certainly not a far left publication as I'm sure some right wing propaganda sites might say. The general consensus in searches shows they're viewed as Center-Left or Left Leaning and that feels accurate for editorials, while opinion pieces are seen by people as more progressive at times.

NYT might be fairly middle of the road as far as journalism goes. The journalism profession though is pretty obviously left of center which is what it is. Probably good to just take most things with a grain of salt other than objective fact reporting (the Yankees won 6-1, 32 people died in a tornado in Kentucky, etc.)
