I mean for Satt it's as simple as take more guaranteed money from Cincy whereas Louisville might can you after next season. I just don't see what Chili Tech sees in Satt.
Yeah, like Holgorsen to Houston, Satterfield is available because Louisville didn't try to keep him.I mean for Satt it's as simple as take more guaranteed money from Cincy whereas Louisville might can you after next season. I just don't see what Chili Tech sees in Satt.
The Brohms are from Louisville. Born and raised, they played their HS and college ball there. That is the only real factor why you'd leave B1G Purdue for ACC Louisville.I don't even know if Louisville-to-Cincy is a step up or a step down or a lateral move? Blah hire regardless. Louisville's just kind of there. You'd have thought Cincy would have aimed for someone splashier.
But then, yes, I guess Brohm to Louisville (which also feels like a sideways move at best but he's got his reasons). Any chance Purdue comes after any of our guys? Probably not right?
He did.Herman took the FAU job I thought

He will coach both teams. with spring game rules and scoring. So who does Satt's coach in the Fenway Bowl? Lousiville or Cincy or one for each half?
As for Purdue coming after any of "our guys", I assume you mean coaches not players, correct? Who on the ND staff is qualified for and or wants the Purdue HC job? Assistant coaches are going to come and go. It's the profession. I don't know how other fanbases typically handle these things, but it feels like whatever board or social media outlet it is, ND fans really have a hard time handling it.

That’s what I’ve got on my BINGO card…My money is Ballard gets shown the door, Saturday gets moved to GM and Irsay hires Hairball as HC.
Cross the bridge when you get there.I’m aware how it works. That said I think we have a bunch of good up-and-comers and would love to see them together for a couple years, at least.
As for who might fit Purdue, I’m just spitballing, agree there’s no obvious candidate on our staff.
Rees is an OC not likely a head coach at this point in his career. I suspect Golden would like to get back to head coaching - I’d guess that’s why he returned to college ball? - but agree he didn’t exactly blow people away thus far.
Of the assistants, McCullough and Mickens seem like potential HC material in the not-too-distant future, but probably need to be coordinators first. I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see either get hired away for that this year.
IIRC, they were courting him and he turned them down. I don't remember reading anything where he said he was interested or had reached out to UoL. He's got something going in West Lafayette and may want to continue to build off that. Pretty sure Purdue upped his pay last year when Louisville called.Which means Jeff Brohm will move on from Purdue. He was openly lobbying for the Louisville job a year ago.
That was after one year at Purdue. He's made public comments lately that basically indicated he's ready to leave. They were courting him and he turned them down.
That was when they hired Satterfield. Brohm said he hadn't been at Purdue long enough to make the change. They were courting him and he turned them down.
“How much pressure did you feel when the Louisville job opened in (2018)?”
In response, Brohm may have been pandering to a local crowd. Maybe not. Either way, it’s hard not to read into what he said about the possibility of coaching at his alma mater.
“OK, those are all good questions on the Louisville job,” Brohm said. “You know what … after being at Purdue two years when it came open, that was a tough call. Tough call.
“To be quite honest, through my schooling and how I was raised, I believe in at least trying to do the right thing and having morals and values. It just was too early to leave (Purdue for U of L then). It just wasn’t right.
“You build relationships. People treat you right. The people there have treated me great. You talk to recruits and they asked me things. Just a lot of things went into it.
“But, obviously, now we’re on year six. I love this town, this area. I’m an alumnus of Louisville. So anything can happen in the future.”
For those reasons I think people are surprised they didn’t do better than Satterfield.Satterfield beat Wake Forest a couple of times when they were ranked. I don't know what he's done otherwise. 25-24 overall with a 15-18 ACC record.
Cincinnati has improved facilities, they're going to the Big 12, and Fickell was the 27th highest paid HC in America. Satterfield was 55th at UL.
UC is a better job than people are giving it credit for and they're moving to the Big 12 on top of that.
They were in the mix for Prime. Being a former Cincinnati Red, he was said to have liked his time in Cincinnati and was interested. For those reasons I think people are surprised they didn’t do better than Satterfield.
Thanks, didn't see that. Now this below could very well be coach speak. That was when they hired Satterfield. Brohm said he hadn't been at Purdue long enough to make the change.
Last summer though he was speaking at a Louisville alumni event that was honoring his father. He didn't know the event was being taped and he talked about what an honor it would be to come back and be the coach at Louisville. I'll see if I can find it.
When Journal & Courier's Sam King asked Brohm if he's had any contact with Louisville, he responded, "No, there's been no contact."
Brohm deflected other questions about the Louisville opening: "To be quite honest, I don't know much more than you guys do," he said. "I was in some meetings this morning, got some texts about Twitter and what news was out there. Other than that no more information."
I dodn't know if he'll fail or succeed, but the highlighted are good points. Finally got a chance to watch the Coach Prime video. Although I love his swagger, I'll bet he falls on his face HARD. He's now on a level playing field from top to bottom. Recruiting a kid to JSU as Neon Deion was easy...Smart, Saban, Riley, Freeman and Dabo weren't coming in the door a few days later with big time success at big time programs for longer than 3 years. Welcome to the big leagues Prime, this isn't FCS football anymore you're no longer the only famous guy in the room. Whatever he did in the SWAC won't matter just like Pyne throwing for 10k yards in high school didn't matter, it's a whole new ballgame. I'll be tuned in for the show!
