Bummed I won't get to watch Germany any more, but they put themselves in this situation.

Makes you wonder if Spain intentionally turtled up at the end to move forward and keep Germany out. Nothing would have stopped the Germans from intentionally scoring three own-goals in the last few minutes to take those sand-bagging Spaniards down with them.

Also, Spain bottling it puts them in second, setting up a match against Morocco instead of Croatia in the next round.

83 million people in Germany and they don't have a former Everton manager. No idea what their excuse is.

Brazil has been ranked first since March, but Belgium began 2022 ranked number one in FIFA's rankings.

Marco is referring to the 2016 Euros, but that 2018 World Cup run was impressive nevertheless. A lot of good nation squads in flux after Qatar now...Mexico, Germany, Belgium. Italy and Colombia obviously weren't even there. The narrative on some of these should really start to shift after Qatar.

2024 Euros will be in Germany. That should be interesting.

I think the timing of this World Cup and the location have a lot of these guys thrown off, but I also think the game has really started to catch on and some of these lesser powers are catching up a bit.

Definitely feels like this tournament is wide open. Could this be the year England actually wins something?

For was weird as the groups have been, I anticipate they'll beat Senegal but lose to France. Still don't trust Southgate enough make it Come Home.

Feels like a South American team is gonna win, just not sure which one. The way the bracket is set up, Argentina and Brazil are destined to meet in the semis

Probably right. I do think this England group could make a run. I’m sure they’ll choke like always.

LOL Belgium was never the favorite. They're ranked #1 because they've advanced to a ridiculous number of consecutive semifinals.

Brazil is the favorite, and theyre likely bracket looks like a cake walk with only a potential rivalry match with underwhelming-thus-far Argentina standing in their war.

The other side of the bracket is potentially looking at some massive rivalry matches as well in the Quarters, with England-France and Spain-Portugal.

Underwhelming?
After the stunning opening loss, they have dominated the last 180 minutes against legit opponents.
I think it was the perfect scenario for Argentina, get the early wake up call but still win your group. And I think I read Brazil hasn’t beaten them since 2019, which includes the Copa Tournament and the WC qualifying rounds.
Brazil/Argentina is always a toss-up.

Remember when we US fans were freaking out about how badly the USMNT looked against Japan? How does that look now?

Come on Jigga...dont count out Poland yet...although if Lewandowski keeps walking around and the coach plays a defensive formation, they will lose to France. But Im calling it...Poland 2-France 1...
