Listening to Prister on the recent II podcast. When talking about Minchey, he’s speaking in absolutes. Yes I know the Irish odds are strong, but I’ve never heard someone talk like that about an uncommitted player.

Pretty sure Prister did that about a d-line recruit a couple of years ago too. Needless to say he did not commit to ND. Makes me cringe a little when he speaks in absolutes like that because, well, we’ve been bitten before

Think this is a really strong year for top QBs and in a normal year he's probably ranked around ~150. Elite Arm Strength / more mobility really only things he's missing

I love how people talk about Silent Commitments. I think a stronger staff would tell a recruit that a Silent Commitment is a non-commitment and that until he is ready to commit its a non-factor and ND will still be taking visits from other players.

Frankly, I am suspicious of the narrative as its basically an easy out for the staff that went and over recruited this kid then got duped. They misread the landscape as they were all inexperienced and in retrospect saying that Dante gave a Silent was an Easy-Out for the debacle.

Based on what we have heard, had they kept the recruiting open, they could have likely gotten one of: Vizzina, Arnold or Johnson. But the "Silent Commitment" blunts the true nature of the shit show.

Hopefully they have learned their lesson no matter the recruit or the position.

Not saying the kid isn't good. He seems better than Angeli at this point but a Top 4 QB in the class is something.

This is ok. Most won’t complain that you have top prospects in the QB room.

Was Minchey a late bloomer? Not work the camp circuit? His offers were not exactly elite, and then he committed to Pitt, while a lot of the bigger-name guys were playing musical chairs and cutting NIL deals.
But yeah his film looks v good, and he did well at Elite 11. He seems like a low-key kid, which after some other QB drama is probably a good thing. Glad to have him, if have him we do.

I know I am not Tommy’s biggest fan but when we land him, Freeman and whoever else made this happen deserves major props!

By most accounts, this was mostly on Rees. Good on him! Seriously, I hope Tommy sticks around long enough to get these weapons on the field and see how the offense performs.

I thought the rumor was that Kenny reached back out to ND, not Tommy making the flip happen. Was on one of the pods, maybe it was Roberts or Driskell who said it.
