I went to the FSU V. U game last night. Hard Rock Stadium is pretty cool but the scene after the game wasn't. Fights broke out. Typical Miami LOL. Neither team looked great but FSU totally destroyed the U. Mario Cristobal has a lot of studs coming in but long way to go.

I missed both of the great games of the evening. I hope this solidifies ND's class. Great win for Freeman. Some damn QB should flip.

We’re 3 players away from being in the title hunt. QB and a couple play making receivers. Our only receiver to catch a pass was a true Frosh.

Outside of that, this team is legit. Our D is outstanding.

I'm quietly optimistic about NaNa Cross Mills Botelho being a stud group next year. I'd still take a transfer or two if they are quality, lord knows it was nice getting Chris Smith this year.

This game reminded me of Alabama 2020, except Clemson didn't have a Mac Jones or Devonta Smith. In that game we managed to get push on Alabama's Dline, and while the passing game was limited we efficiently moved the ball on the ground. Clemson didn't have the QB play or offensive firepower to overcome us last night.

One of the pods, I think ISD but maybe Irish Illustrated or Rivals, mentioned that Stuckey was quoted saying 10 was an ideal number for receivers. Looking at the roster we probably have:

Merriweather, Styles, Colzie, Thomas all probably returning (unless a shock transfer out)

Lenzy and Wilkins have 1 year of eligibility from the redshirt/Covid year, Avery Davis could potentially apply for an injury redshirt, and Salerno is listed as a Grad student. Frankly wouldn't be shocked if none of these guys return next year

The incoming class could include 4 or 5 guys: Braylon James, Greathouse, Flores, and then Kaleb Smith/Khalil Barnes if they commit.

I could see us taking 1-2 transfers, only getting more if we see a decommit or unexpected transfer

A HC that loves this university and sees the benefits it offers instead of viewing it as a hindrance to success. ✅

I’m sure Jac is using the ND gig as a stepping stone as well. Why not just give the gig to Burmeister? He’s currently doing PxP for the ND radio broadcast & seems content vs being the next big thing.

I’ve really enjoyed him when he’s called a game & in interviews. Plus, he’s a former backup QB at Iowa so has that much more understanding of the game.

Jayden Thomas has essentially become a TE/WR tweener. Runs routes like a WR, but blocks like a TE in the box. I love the new wrinkles with him on the wing like an extra TE. There was a big run to Diggs last night where he lined up on the right wing, but pulled around the left end and picked up a block at the first down marker.

I love our TE's, but I don't think any of them have the speed to get around the end and then out in front of the RB on a play like that.

Yes, there was a lot of creativity in the run game last night. A ton of different formations, shifting, pulling, combo’s etc. all to run ultimately the same 5 or 6 plays and outman clemson at the point of attack where the play was designed to go. Very rarely were we not helmet on helmet.
