What? That moronic Hangover sketch? He wants to mold ND into his image where it’s non stop, idiotic, social media bullshit.
Do you have anything new, or are you just going to post the same thing over and over? Yes, I'm totally sure Golic Jr. has the power to mold ND to what he wants. He's a media personality who likes ND, is an alum, and former player. He has a lot of insight into the program. But your schtick is to overreact to what he has done because you dislike him. Find something new.

They're both awful and it's a joke that NBC treats ND football as 1) a tool to hone and train immature announcers and 2) a vehicle to pump their shitty streaming service. Remember when they had that new skycam that completely hosed the views of the action? Why tf are you trying things like that out on ND football broadcasts?

ND football should be a crown jewel for NBC sports. Instead, it's a test bed for half-baked production ideas and a jr announcer elementary school.

Tirico was marvelous. That level of competency and experience should be the standard.

Anybody know the amount of money ND football brings in compared to their NFL coverage... or any other sports coverage per season?

He does have too much influence, he should never have been able to get that close to the program. He's all about getting social media likes, there's no substance to anything he does.

Mike Goolsby's show is the only one I look at now. I like the guy.
"Top 3 strengths of Drew Pyne? - no intangibles"
And he can be that blunt because it's not his actual job. All the other people in ND media have to tippy toe around things and try to keep the peace. Goolsby doesn't give a f**k because ND can't threaten to limit his press access.

He definitely did not tiptoe about Pyne lol. Basically said he sucks like 20 different ways.

And he said what I was just talking about this week. Every other game I watched on Saturday had better QB play than ND. It's inexcusable. Singer is a fucking idiot though. Kept saying how good Pyne is.

Drew does not suck, he is a decent P5 QB, prob best served in a role similar to what Tommy had. Maybe would start at some lesser schools. Dude bleeds ND, is an ND guy, a great teammate. He just isn't a guy that is going to get us over the hump. He is a decent college QB, that is better then 95% of all QBs in the world. While I fully support talk of other options, and what is limiting the offense, I don't support us saying players SUCK or whatever. I wish we as a collective group wouldn't do that.

Goolsby was saying Pyne is bad Singer was saying he is good (not great).
He is somewhere in between. Not good enough.

Pyne is average, maybe even slightly below average. But he has the time to improve with more playing time. Limitations aside, he has only started five games in his entire career.

Goolsby has brought a nice little "no nonsense" feeling to B&G. Hyde is great because he knows his X's and O's, and it helps counterbalance some of Singer's annoyance at times.

I enjoyed IB in the off-season just because of the sheer amount of quantity they would put out each week. They give you your ND football fix. But, they've continued the same process into the season. And it's slowly turning into a negative.

Their whole disagreement was based on the definition of “bad”. Sinclair was like he’s not bad. Goolsby was like yes he is bad. Then they were arguing over what that means. To Sinclair he is a D1 starter level QB therefore he isn’t bad.

I rolled my eyes at Singer asking if people realize how big D1 is, when that’s not what people are talking about and I’m sure he even knows that. It’s a shorthand for FBS-level, not taking snaps at Mercer or LIU, my guy.

I spent a decade as a sports reporter, so I give them a lot of grace. But Singer lets his unearned snark leak out a little more than I enjoy.

Well said. Drew does some things extremely well and struggles in some areas. He does a great job taking care of the football. I think of his 3 INTs this year 2 of them came from tipped balls at the line and one was the pick coming off the bench against Marshall. He's played great on the road in two games and struggled in 2 1/2 games at home. I think he's a bit too conservative at times and his passing hasn't been great at times other than his play action. People forget he was the backup and didn't have the benefit of taking all the snaps with the 1's until a month ago. He's the man now, gotta support who is under Center. Criticisms are fair, but he's still one of our guys though and doing his best, the right thing to do is be respectful with the criticisms.

Chris from ISD redacted some information in the recruiting intel piece released this morning. He then responded to a question in the forum about it with "I'd classify the redacted info as "potentially promising," but not something to get excited about just yet."

Fingers crossed it was about a QB

“REdacted” “CLASSIFY”

Read between the lines here, people

Anyone else really like the Goolsby show? He can be so vicious to some of the guys but I feel like as a former captain he has a right to do that in a way that a former interhall stud such as myself does not
It’s fascinating to see Singer’s reactions after Goolsby goes off on Pyne for a half hour.

I am sort of confused by why Goolsby hates Pyne sooo bad but sings Buchner's praises. Buchner was the anointed starter and played downright BAD in both of his starts before falling to injury.

He would just see the upside of Buchner. He was playing behind an awful oline for his brief stink. He likes his quick release, big arm, running. He is a big on skills over intangibles.

was gonna reply similarly. The OL has improved dramatically since the first two games. Offense didn't look great in the first half against Cal, and still didn't run the ball particularly well until UNC.

I'm not giving up on Buchner. People are going to opine for the transfer, but Buchner will be a RS Soph. heading into next season with a lot of raw talent and a seasoned OL. Have to give him a shot if he wins the job. But it will be another open QB competition next season.

Nothing against the kid, but we don’t owe him crap. At this point he’s Andrew Hendrix at best. We can’t do another lost season like this one.

It’s not a matter of “owe,” it’s that Buchner’s ceiling exceeds that of almost anyone we’re likely to get in the portal and he hasn’t really had a chance to show it b/c our whole team played like poop against Marshall and then he got hurt.

You take a grad transfer, of course, but you don’t chase off Buchner in the process. You have them compete for the job (Pyne too I guess) and best man wins.

Where did you get this idea from. From everything he’s shown us he can’t throw the ball accurately down field all he can do is run. Honestly Andrew Hendrix is more of a Qb that him at least he threw it. I’m so over quarterbacks who run, Notre Dame needs a tall Qb with touch that can if he has to pull it and run for a first down.

At this point, I’ve not seen anything to suggest his ceiling is as high as many of us anticipated.

I’m not sure who all we’re “likely” to get in the portal—but if I’m Marcus Freeman, I don’t want to hitch my career to Buchner.
