Friday night, I'm going to watch Halloween Ends on the back porch, in the dark, while drinking Guinness.

Saturday afternoon, I'll be at the Renaissance Festival, watching dudes in armor hit each other with blunted weapons, eating turkey legs, and drinking Guinness. If enough Guinness is consumed, I may even buy a sword for no good reason.

Saturday night, I'll be on the couch in the man cave, watching dudes in armor hit each other WITHOUT blunted weapons, drinking Guinness. Go Irish.

Outside of drinking Guinness and other fall activities... there is a lot of good football in store for Saturday. Does the Renaissance Festival have a sports bar? Idk, but I'm gonna find out. Will my wife be mad if I tell her we're at the Renaissance Festival just so we have a new location to drink beer and watch football? Absolutely!

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 12

TimeMatchupCoverage
7:30PMLouisiana @ MarshallESPN2

- Wednesday night Funbelt! Let's root for Marshall to finally get another FBS win... looking kind of shabby with their only FBS win being over ND.

THURSDAY, OCT. 13

TimeMatchupCoverage
7:00PMBaylor (-3) @ West VirginiaFS1
7:00PMTemple @ UCF (-23.5)ESPN

- A rebuilding year for Baylor? They're 3-2, with losses to the two better teams they've played. WVU is coming off a bye week. This could be sloppy.
- Thursday night AAC football... not a great matchup, but it's a game to watch if you have no interest in the other game. UCF is decent. Temple is not.

FRIDAY. OCT. 14

TimeMatchupCoverage
7:30PMNavy @ SMU (-12.5)ESPN
8:00PMUTSA (-33.5) @ Florida InternationalCBSSN

- Scout the Midshipmen, who are probably bad, but DID put up 53 points on Tulsa last week. Maybe it's a young team getting better? We'll see over the next four weeks.
- UTSA is 5-2 and beat WKU. WKU beat FIU 73-0. You wanna see a dead body while also admiring UTSA's glorious helmets?

SATURDAY, OCT. 15 - EARLY

TimeMatchupCoverage
12:00PM#10 Penn State @ #5 Michigan (-7)FOX
12:00PMAuburn @ #9 Ole Miss (-15)ESPN
12:00PM#19 Kansas @ Oklahoma (-9)ESPN2
12:00PMIowa State @ #22 Texas (-16.5)ABC
12:00PMMinnesota (-6.5) @ #24 IllinoisBTN

- BIG NUDE SATURDAY. There are exactly two (2) times I will root for Penn State: against pOSU, and against scUM. scUM hasn't been tested yet. Hopefully Penn State is up to the task. Nick Singleton will have a hard time finding running room, so Clifford needs to be on.
- Ole Miss had a brief scare against Clark Lea and Vandy last week before pulling away. Let's see how the top-10 team responds a week later.
- Kansas lost a heartbreaker last week, and is relying on a backup QB to get back on track. This also seems like a prime 'get right' spot for Venables and OU.
- Is Texas Back? The eternal question continues to linger... but analytics say that Texas is closer to the top-4 right now than anyone else. Iowa State is good for an upset every now and again, though.
- Another potential letdown/get-right mix here. Minnesota lost an ugly one to Purdue last week. Illinois won a 9-6 slugfest over Iowa. Minnesota is capable of scoring more than the Illini can handle, but they're inconsistent.

SATURDAY, OCT. 15 - AFTERNOON

TimeMatchupCoverage
3:30PMVanderbilt @ #1 Georgia (-38)SECN
3:30PM#3 Alabama (-7) @ #6 TennesseeCBS
3:30PM#8 Oklahoma State @ #13 TCU (-4)ABC
3:30PM#15 NC State @ #18 Syracuse (-3.5)ACCN
3:30PMArkansas (-1.5) @ BYUESPN
4:00PM#25 James Madison (-12) @ Georgia SouthernESPN+

- Clark Lea and Vandy are this week's sacrificial lamb to the UGA juggernaut.
- This is a good matchup. Will Bryce Young play? Is he once again a game-time decision? Alabama will need to score more points behind Milroe to avoid another upset bid at the hands of Tennessee, who are more potent on offense than A&M.
- Another matchup of unbeatens! Oklahoma State is somehow flying under the radar, while TCU is a Cinderella on the climb. Someone emerges from this matchup in the playoff discussion.
- Syracuse gets a good test here that starts a tough run of games for the Orange. Are they legit, or pretenders?
- Let's see how Arkansas and BYU look. Arkansas has shit the bed of late, and a BYU bounce-back would look great on ND's resume.
- If you've got ESPN+, consider switching over to see if the Dukes can remain unbeaten against a Georgia Southern team that could be a tough out.

SATURDAY, OCT. 15 - LATE

TimeMatchupCoverage
7:30PMNOTRE DAME (-17) VS STANFORDNBC/Peacock
7:00PMLSU @ Florida (-2.5)ESPN
7:30PM#4 Clemson (-3.5) @ Florida StateABC
7:30PM#16 Mississippi State (-4) @ #22 KentuckySECN
8:00PM#7 USC @ #20 Utah (-3.5)FOX
8:00PMNorth Carolina (-7) @ DukeACCN

- GO IRISH. BEAT DAVID SHAW. Pretty much everything Stanford is bad at is a benefit to Notre Dame. Take care of business, don't have stupid turnovers, win big.
- BK plays in the Swamp for the first time. Good luck.
- Clemson has turned it on a bit lately, but FSU is capable of competing if they clean up some of their issues from the past two weeks.
- This is a good matchup being relegated to conference-network coverage. Kentucky gets Will Levis back, and looks to bounce back against Leach and Cowbell.
- The Trojans' physicality will be tested against the Utes... let's see how Lincoln's troops handle a team that will repeatedly punch them in the mouth.
- I would love Elko to get Duke moving the right direction. It would be a detriment to ND, so idk why, but I just like the guy as a coach at Duke for some reason. Having said that... UNC needs to win for ND's resume.

SATURDAY, OCT. 15 - NIGHT CAP

TimeMatchupCoverage
9:00PMWashington State @ Oregon State (-3.5)PAC12
10:30PMAir Force (-10) @ UNLVCBSSN
10:45PMSan Jose State (-8.5) @ Fresno StateFS1

- These matchups are all meh. Enjoy a drink and see if anything fun happens.

The little things you look forward to in life. This thread each week is one of those.

Michigan, Tennessee, Utah all winners. Gimme the Pirate on the road over a very overrated UK team, too.

I like both DCs at Minnesota and Illinois, Rossi and Walters. Two guys who are going to be going places sooner rather than later.

For the bettors, I have a theory that big spread games that should be a blowout, the team to score last will be the loser in garbage time which is a bet you can take.

Team To Score Last
Stanford +170
Iowa State +180
Vanderbilt +440
Temple +250
Charlotte +188
FIU +280

I will certainly not be betting big money on this, but going to try and track it this week.

I'd say so, Bruv. It was 14-13 at one point and the doors blew off.

Bama/Tennessee line is on the move. If you wanted Bama, mind have to find someone who hasn’t adjusted

Last week was fun to bet because Tenn/Texas/Iowa under all seemed so obvious. Notre Dame with points worked out too.

Nothing looks easy this week, except for maybe Florida minus points.

ND should run over Stanford, but 17 isn’t easy. I am actually thinking of betting on Tennessee plus points. Bama has appeared vulnerable this year and Tenn has shown the ability to score.

I like the last to score idea, but that’s such a toss up.

JJ MCarthy O .5 INTs feels like a lock. That PSU secondary is nasty and first big game for JJ. PSU has picked off a pass in 13 of the 18 games dating back to last year.

Not a PSU fan but I would love to watch them go into The big house and win.

So would James Franklin, but he's not really into winning big games anywhere let alone on the road against good teams.

He's Mr. Recruiter, though, so everyone thinks he's great.

watching 4-0 Princeton take on Brown and the stands mostly empty. don't know if Princeton fans don't like football or what. Navy vs SMU is the other game that is about to start so no good games tonight

The Ivy League is embarrassed they ever cared about such a gauche sport. I wonder how much longer they'll continue playing.

Tennessee +9
Florida -2.5

Both seem like a good bet and am debating going heavy. Am I nuts?

If you have ESPN+ and the afternoon games turn out to be duds, you can watch the top two teams in the FCS battle it out for the Dakota Marker trophy.

I'm torn on Tennessee, their track record against Bama is abysmal. Saban on Gameday live and heard all of those boos, I think he's out for blood. But this Tennessee team is better than any he's played in recent memory, they'll be jacked. I wouldn't be surprised if UT won, wouldn't be surprised if Bama boat raced them.

That's just me personally, I tend to stay away from any game I can't get a gut feeling for

I love watching Kansas on offense. Such a fun RPO offense. Oklahoma is a bad football team though.

OU has nothing for a defense. Absolutely nothing. They could line up some folding chairs and be as effective.

I’d be 14 - 0 Michigan if they just lined up and ran it each down with Corum

PSU looks just like the Purdue game so far. They waste the 1Q trying to establish the run with the most boring straight up run plays imaginable

The up tempo air raid stuff is what Clifford is actually decent at.
