Not much of note from today's practice report outside the above. Found it interesting that Merriweather may get some work as a returner given his size.

I would love if thr db could do the returns. We cannot afford any wr or rb injury

I tend to agree, we don't have the depth to risk an injury there. Or just put Salerno back there like we did Finke and fair catch 75% of them.

I just think there’s too much speed and talent available to concede fair catches. Can’t play scared just because of depth, ya know? Tyree, Styles, Lenzy could all be very dangerous weapons in the return game and turn that unit into a huge threat

That was all Kelly. If it's not a wide open path, fair catch. Minimize the mistakes.

Same for KO's. Remember the KO return against Wiscy? Polian said Kelly was always wanted the return up the middle, because outside returns require players to hold their blocks longer, thus more penalties. He convinced Kelly to go outside and you know the rest.

I have a feeling MF will be more of a gambler than Kelly was.

Pete and Fortuna both reiterated the Merriweather hype, brought up Kevin Stepherson's (😭) freshman year numbers as a comparison to what they'd call a win for him. Also reaffirmed that Buchner has all but wrapped up QB1.

I seem to remember watching a practice highlight of Stepherson absolutely breaking someones ankles on a route. My hype was through the roof for him. Oh well.

media hasn't seen them kick yet, guess durring the sessions that's been open to the media the kickers have been inside or doing thier own thing.

I’d be slightly disappointed if TM only has 25 catches this year. That’s only 2 a game. I think 35 is a fair expectation.
