What's a good comp for this kid? We have a lot of really good TEs. Is he like in the Eifert category?

Is that really a good comp? Is he this kind of receiving TE? Is his speed in the Pitts range?
Out of HS...yes.

Is that realistic by the end of college? Probably not. Raridon will probably end up much bigger than Pitts and I doubt he is running a laser timed 4.44 40.

I guess he's run a hand timed 4.52 post injury, so maybe, but I'm not holding my breathe.

If Raridon beats out Baumann as the #2 TE that says more about Raridon especially how he bounced back from his injury.

I think Raridon does get PT this year, but I like him as a TE/WR flex based off what I've read in his thread.

Baumann will be the Inline TE allowing Mayer to move all over the field I would say in 12 personnel sets. Hard to see Raridon doing in the tight i would say he'll be outside if he plays

Man, I'm excited for Raridon but expecting him to immediately take TE #2 in his true freshman season after an ACL is....a bit too positive for me.

If he's an absolute freak, he'll get 20-50 snaps this season, record a few catches and maybe lose his potential redshirt. For this season, I can't see him doing much besides operating flexed out to reduce the # of WR snaps.

Not to be “that guy,” but I don’t care about show muscles.
I’m more interested in how fast & athletic he supposedly is.
Actual football things.

There is a difference between "show muscles" and "notice how my 6'6" frame has no trouble adding mass and I look like a pro athlete before my freshman year of college despite just coming off of rehab."

There were questions about whether he was big enough to play in-line while, at the same time, all-time great Mike Goolsby said he was one of those absolutely huge kids who was a clear future pro.

Now we know.

My point is simply that him flexing doesn’t change my high opinion of him as a football player.
And since when has Goolsby been an all-time great? LOL

I agree, that’s his biggest strength pre injury. More athletic than Mayer. Mayer was just so physically and mentally ready. Also see height.

With all that said, you ain’t winning a NC In Todays game if you don’t look the part coming off the bus. Just way too much physically gifted talented teams.

I hope they find a role for Evans, with or without his scooter.
Most of the reports I saw insist Evans had a role defined (or one that was being defined/developed) but then the injury. Hopefully he can be 100% sometime this season. Would be nice to get him some reps/development.

I’m not sure Eli is ready to block in the running game yet. I think that’s where Evans will come in play when he’s healthy.

I’m really excited to see what Eli can do in the passing game. It’s guaranteed that Mayer will get bracketed or doubled. Styles, Lenzy, Merriweather, and hopefully Eli can make defenses pay. Idk how you cover both Mayer and Raridon.

I'm continuously wowed and stunned at how loaded with future NFLers we are at the power positions. No team, not Alabama, not Georgia, not OSU will intimidate this team, and that's how Old Notre Dame was in the glory days. But where is Lujack, Hornung, Lamonica, Huarte, Hanratty, Montana, Theisman, ... ???

I really want him to be good enough to earn snaps this year as a jumbo WR. Have there been any rumblings from within on how Eli is looking?

Just like 15 catches, 150+ yds and 2 TDs. Is this expecting too much or setting the bar too low?

I understand being excited for new players, but there's a lot of talent in front of him.
It will be a major accomplishment just to get on the field let alone put up big numbers.
