I could have quoted any of the conversation talking about Loy keeping score. Yours was just random.
I have Loy stories too, but must have that covered here already.
I was just saying Loy isn’t the only one doing it.
Ok bc if your point is Singer is the worst then brother I am right there with you

I like the Athletic stuff, because they aren’t really biased even though Sampson is a ND grad. E
I like the Hit and Hustle. I like ISD stuff as long as Mike Frank isn’t on it.
I like the new guy at Rivals, Kyle Kelly. He actually came from an OSU site before & he is pretty straightforward, and I think does a good job.
I will listen to the II podcast with Prister Sampson & O’Malley. They seem to keep it honest.
With IB, I like Ryan Roberts. He works hard.
With Driskell it’s tough. I appreciate all the content. I need around 90 minutes of podcast to listen to each day and if nobody else is putting stuff out I can always count on him putting 2-3 hours of podcasts out a day. I just try to ignore his rants & arrogance. And the fact 10% of the podcasts are him railing on BK or Jeff Quinn.
I really don’t listen to Singer or any of his stuff because it sucks & he is always a day behind everyone & doesn’t give any inside info. I don’t listen to Goolsby on there either but that’s for other reasons that have to do with his training facility in Omaha.

Basically, I listen to almost all the podcasts because I need at least 90 minutes of podcasts every morning starting around 0600. ND football is my only vice/hobby, so I prefer to spend that time listening to ND podcasts.
If you haven’t already, speed up all your podcasts to 1.5 speed. I can’t even listen to regular speed anymore

Tom does really good work and I think 99% of the criticism he takes his unwarranted. He’s very plugged in with recruiting; probably more than any other insider.

But the handling/coverage of this recruitment was really weird. His final piece was fluff and offered nothing new. He essentially chose a recruit over paid subs. I would think paid subscribers pay the bills. Subs want the truth, whether it’s good or bad.

Saw this at 247. This guy is a big time Michigan donor and apparently pretty plugged in.

However, a buddy of mine who listens to local sports talk radio text me to rub it in my face that “Oregon got the 5 star QB over Notre Dame” said that the speculation was it was upwards of $6.5M and parents got Nike jobs.

Either way it was always about the money for his pops. Bribery interseting...........

Technically his commitment to Oregon is the same as his silent to ND.
Until he signs, both mean nothing.
And even then, with the new rules, signing means only a little more.
One certainly carries a little more weight. If he supposedly is a silent commit it doesn't look bad if he decides to verbally commit elsewhere. If he's a verbal commit and backs out without good reason it looks rather shady and a bit underhanded. In truth both are a bit shady really. What's the point of a silent commitment? All it means is you might want to come, but you want to date 5 other guys first to see if anything better is out there before you commit to the 1st. It's no real commitment, you're just keeping a side piece handy in case the others are bogus.

Sorry, but for multiple millions and fiscal stability for my mom/dad, I’d do the same thing. He can pay for an ND education and still be set up for life if he falls on his face playing football.

Got to hope a lot of these guys flame out and those providing the big $ start feeling the pain.
I think everyone is hoping to see that. It sucks because I never root for injuries for these kids but we need a lot of these big time players to collapse on the big stage and watch the fallout with the boosters/deals.

If he gets injured or fails to live up to expectations, I think Dante will find out the deal he got was as solid as his spring verbal to ND.

I hope Dante and the rest hired good lawyers and get their money.
But I hope the boosters paying it get burned early and often and come to realize that spending $3 million to convince a high school kid to come to your preferred college is not a wise investment.

I can’t wait for this thread when he visits for the Clemson game
Uh, I hope he’s not. Is this true? He’s a pariah. The only thing I fault anyone for is the staff not seeing this coming. As if they just suddenly became interested in NIL. I’d really prefer getting CJ to reclassify before Michigan State offers him $10 million.

In general, no one has a problem with this. The issue was the moving of the goal posts and not being up front with the staff that he was seriously considering other schools. He was trying to keep ND on the hook in case an NIL deal didn't materialize.

I almost posted the same thing on Friday after his commitment lol.

He only used two official visits (the furthest visits he took, which seems reasonable, though a conspiracy theorist would note they were also the big NIL schools), Oregon is now on unstable ground, and we have no idea how these teams will respond to new coaching staffs.

It could see him circling back around and doing some more flirting, not just with ND, based on how he handled his 'silent' commitment.

It’s not really an investment if it’s a thousand dudes all chipping in $3,000.
That’s really nothing for any of them.

Honestly, this board, if we really wanted to, could probably reach a million if everyone chipped in an amount they deemed harmless to their own savings.

My father-law is a booster for school (not ND), and a $10,000 check would be joke to him to write for each recruit.

I don’t think people understand how much money these dudes have and how important college football is to them.

I could see where they (Moore and dad) weren't truly aware of some of these NIL deals until they took some visits and they materialized when they were put on the table in front of them. That's when he should have been up front with the staff.

I’m trying to remember the timing, but I believe he committed to ND in February, was going to announce publicly on ESPN in April, and about a week & a half before that was to take place was when Nico got the $8 million.
That changed everything.

Except odds are he wont be getting anywhere near a ND education without football QB behind his name.

So much good to be done in the world and people are throwing their money away for something that ultimately means nothing

When ND announces they will join the Big Ten and works out a deal to keep Oregon out...
