They didn’t prefer him on D but they did pitch an ATH. I don’t know exactly why because they did I believe prefer him at RB. Idk if it was thought that pitch set us apart, managing other guys we had on the board (was a good year for RB recruiting, they were heavy on Ryan Green, Ty Isaac, Folston, Greg Bryant etc) or some combo of a few reasons. In the end he was leaning ND and then Meyer got the last visit.

Coach | Notre Dame Offer A "Gamechanger" For 2020 ATH Jordan Addison | Irish Sports Daily

Addison also has a growing list of scholarship offers that now includes schools like Notre Dame, Virginia, Pitt and Maryland among others. Notre Dame is recruiting him to play cornerback while other schools are looking at him as a receiver. There’s some thinking that the transition to the college level may be easier on offense than defense, but the Irish should get a chance to make their pitch.

Around the ACC | August 31 | Irish Sports Daily

I mentioned on Power Hour earlier this week that wide receiver Jordan Addison‍ is someone to watch at Pitt. He’s been generating plenty of early buzz and he was one of the biggest risers as a prospect during his senior year. Notre Dame offered him last summer and liked him at cornerback, but he emerged as a stud wide receiver that I eventually ranked in my top-100 prospects in the country.https://irishsportsdaily.com/s/13024/around-the-acc-august-31

Jordan Addison, the one that got away? Why the star freshman chose Pitt over Notre Dame (southbendtribune.com)

Yet the Irish during the recruiting process targeted him to play defense.

“We thought early on in our recruiting efforts that he would be a guy who would do well at the cornerback position because of his length,” ND head coach Brian Kelly said. “That’s kind of what stood out to us. But obviously he could play other positions as well. We are finding out that he’s going to be one of the top receivers in this league for a few years now.”

I saw an espn re-ranks “way too early top 25 preseason” article this morning that has USC at # 4 after this transfer. USC brought in a lot of talent but I don’t see top 5.

They are gonna put up some flashy point totals and their conference is stinky. As long as they start the season ranked anywhere they will climb until they face a real test of maybe Utah? That schedule is buns.

Gonna be fun watching Freeman take Riley's lunch money each year. The Trojans are soft, and all these skill position transfers aren't gonna change that.

It will be interesting if some of these NIL deals don’t materialize. What a nightmare for a coach.

Can we just promise him some playing time? and some gold(en helmets)?

I don't think he'd be happy here either if he's only after cash.

These kids are getting played by manipulative adults (agents and their parents) who want to line their own pockets. Transferring somewhere promising you MILLIONS and not getting it in writing is a naive move. Completely different situation than a school “showing” you what players are *currently making* on campus and saying you can do similar.

How old is Addison?
I’m not trying to be the grumpy old guy, but when 16-17 year olds are making bad decisions I blame the parents/handlers. But when 21+ year olds make bad decisions I blame them.
They want to be paid. If you are paid, you are a professional, meaning you are paid for your services. So don’t pull the “I’m just a kid,” crap.
Also, I’m sure there are many on here like me, who made life decisions at 20-21 or younger and just dealt with them. (Especially other former military guys like me).
I have a lot less sympathy than most with these “kids” because I was around “kids” who acted like grown-ass men.

This post isn’t directed at you Lax, I just used your post as a piggyback to go on my rant…

It's completely reasonable for a 20 year old to seek guidance and advice from a parent when millions are at stake. Some parents are shit, I'm sorry to say.

When I was 21 I would've taken literally any financial advice my parents gave me... you haven't even filed taxes at that age. In the real world, maybe, but college stunts your growth in that respect.

Buddy ain’t that true. I made absolutely horrible financial decisions I’m still working through nearly 20 years later because I took my parents’ advice.
