To me, NDs power play here is to control who the B1G adds. It’s not like they can just say we want more money than everyone else. I think ND should say okay here is what we want. We want Stanford and we want insert someone from the ACC. NDs play here is to overemphasize the national part and the academic part of the “B1G”.

Maybe UVA and UNC? I feel like FSU, Clemson, GT, VT, and Miami would make more sense in the SEC.

I feel like this is a move to get ND to join the big ten. The excuse has always been playing a national schedule and keeping our traditional rivalries. By adding SC they are putting it in ND’s court, saying we have almost all your traditional rivals plus playing a national schedule from east coast to west coast. I fully expect ND to join here soon, honestly I don’t actually hate it either. Playing Penn st, Michigan, Ohio st, USC, every year or other year would be pretty awesome and would make for some awesome rivalries as well

Yeah I've always strongly favored independence for us but honestly a "Big Ten" that includes USC and probably other West Coast schools would be preferable to dicking around with NC State and Georgia Tech all the time, especially if Clemson and FSU inevitably join the SEC. Keep Navy and use one of our other OOC slots to schedule a marquee SEC team and it's not so awful, is it?

Would make most sense in some ways but I feel like if you touch the Carolinas it can’t stop at 20 you gotta go like 24 then cause they’ll stick together. Someone like Syracuse or Pitt may just win the lottery and be the easy pull to kind of pod with Rutgers and Maryland

Buddy who’s big OSU fan saying ND has 24 hrs to decide on B1G membership. Also Oregon won’t be added to the B1G. Idk but he belongs to a lot of the OSU pay sites.

Also rumor on OSU sites saying Clemson has been denied by B1G. Tbh if I’m ND I pull the trigger and say let me keep the independent TV deal. Academics align and I think ND/OSU would be the 2 teams ruling the B1G

I don't get this. There is approximately a 0.0% chance that ND goes to a non-ACC conference before 2036 because 100% of the revenue would go to the ACC. I don't get this "does ND jump to the Big Ten now" rhetoric; no ACC teams are leaving for the next decade plus.

Clemson's academic profile has seen an exceptional boost over the last decade more or less due to their on the field success. Basically have the same admissions stats as PSU. Leaving them out for academic reasons would be dumb.

Idk of what Clemsons perceived academic prestige is to people out side the state but it’s a really good school. Donor base is very local though. Engineering, Ag, and Architecture is top notch in the south.

Cut a deal for ND and Wake Forest in only if Michigan calls themselves a trade school.

I live in Boston and struck by how many kids from around here seem to go to Clemson now. I think they’re trying to change perceptions and broaden their base of students beyond the Carolinas.

Either way they’re far more likely joining the SEC than the Big 10.

B1G adds 4 West Coast schools including USC, UCLA and Stanford while also ND & the lucky winner of either 1 or 3 ACC tag a longs.

Hmmmm do you think ND would insist on BC for the Catholic brotherhood thing?

Guys on ESPN radio were saying Big 10 or whatever they are now will try to lure Stanford. This will force ND's hand to join the Big 10 because all of their historic rivals will now be in the conference.

Sounds more like Wisconsin, Minnesota and a few others are joining the Notre Dame Conference

I think Clemson along with Miami and Florida State are a better fit for the SEC.

Call me old fashioned or just old but I hate this move. I am not a fan of either school but grew up with the Pac 10 being a west coast conference and even if it does survive things will never be the same.
