So, I'll double post this here as there is some really interesting quotes from their A&M sources on Dante.

Kelly probably offering some of his salary as an NIL deal in order to save face with LSU fans and to "prove" he's better than Freeman lol

We should negative recruit BKs QB development (I mean even if we aren't pursuing Moore).

I think that sounds like bs, but if true…

Thoughts on this scenario:

Dante to LSU
Carr reclassifies to ‘23
Michigan gets a 3 star QB

ND obviously goes guns ablaze for Sayin ‘24.

Buchner, Carr, Sayin as the QB room.

I dont buy it. So he doesn't want to preceed a 5* qb at ND and play under Freeman/Rees, but the dynamic duo of Brian Kelly and Mike Denbrock got him wanting to follow 2022 5* and Louisiana hometown hero Walker Howard?

Dante was about to do a fake ND hat pull and chose LSU. Maybe he’s just pissed CJ stole his trolling of ND Thunder.

I guess he might have met BK last year at Notre Dame, if Kelly gave him the time of day? And there was some chatter at some point about how Dante liked the idea of “proving himself against the best” in the SEC.
But… yeah LSU doesn’t make a ton of sense.

The wild speculation and throwing shade at a recruit in here by grown ass men with literally zero factual information other than your fantasies and trying to assign meaning to your own interpretations of every minute thing that happens is ridiculous.

It would also be flat out stupid for the staff not to continue recruiting Danta HARD at this point. After last years class, not getting a big time QB this year because you slowed pursuit would be a BAD decision. CJ right now on tape looks like he could end up being legit, but if he ended up being a miss, that leaves a huge gap in QB recruiting. You simply cant play those odds when chasing a natty.

Good to hear that "the Gug is confident" traveled to Baton Rouge with BK. His program is always confident even when the writing is on the wall.

But the price has gone down. lol
Right now it is June before his Senior year. There are probably 100 high school QBs who will eventually go to division 1 schools currently still uncommitted. I really dont understand why it has to be about money or a money grab just because Dante is highly ranked and not committed.

Nobody knows anything beyond just making assumptions at this point.

Completely unfair to the kid just because some people have decided for him that he should be committed by now. Why shouldnt he take his visits and do all the due diligence he needs before making any decision.

He doesnt owe ND fans anything, and really no need to make assumptions about him or his parents unless somebody has concrete information about the situation, which nobody does right now.

I'm gonna go ahead and say something here. Its gonna sound a lot like "I' told ya so" but its not

I love message boards talking about our favorite obsessions. Im on a gaming board, a board about my favorite band, and Notre Dame.

All of them have a wild ability to convince an obsessed fan theyre wrong. That the thing they love isn't so great because either the person that loves it is too optimistic... or the people that run it are incompetent. (or some mix of the two)

College Football message boards have an especially... potentially... toxic part to it.

We love keeping up on what children are going to do re: their decisions on going to college.

When it doesn't go the way we want... theres some in our community that start talking MAD disrespect to not only the 16 or 17 yo. But their families who we never met.

TLDR

Stop talking shit about inner morality/ethics of teenagers or their families.

Not only can it come back to bite you... Its creepy and wrong.

That doesn't happen as much as you and the other holier than thou's like to make out.
There are some comments around about him chasing money which is barely even a criticism - more of an observation.

This happens nearly every time a big time recruit goes the wrong way. It happens here. The only other board im on is 247 and its wild there... much worse.

Holier than thou? I suppose I am if you talk shit about a 16/17 yo's morals

Especially when people talk about their families. They should be ashamed of themselves.

We have no frame of reference.

I think this is the point though. An observation of what?? He has taken some visits to schools people have “assumed” were for NIL (completely discounting the fact that they have been schools with a history of success at one point or another and with fairly new coaches and energy around the program in their own way just like ND right now), and has undoubtedly received NIL offers, yet remains uncommitted.

So what exactly is it an “observation” of… it is just fans assigning their own meaning and making their own assumptions because he hasnt committed to ND yet who “does things the right way”….therefore it must be all about the money And nothing else.

Your comment kind of made the previous posters point for them, you just dont realize it.

I love that ND got Carr but the program needs to add elite or close to elite talent every year. Getting just Carr just isn't good enough. I'm not saying he's not good enough, he is. The kid is an elite talent but we need more, more, more.

I just don't get the crowd that wants to drop Moore, the man that the program put all there eggs in one basket for. It makes no sense to stop because they got a stud in the following class.

Dante might have lost his leverage for ND to wait for him and/or be the exclusive QB recruited for the '23 class but he's a stud and if god forbid if Tyler Buchner isn't what we think he's going to be, we are going to want a Top 10 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐QB to be in South Bend and ready to play as a true Freshmen.

A Dante commit with Carr in the fold might have lost a little of the shine that he would have received because the story will be different now, however he still could/would control the narrative over Carr.

What I mean by this is that if Dante commits to ND and is here a year earlier than Carr it will obviously give him the upper hand in being the next QB or if Buckner isn't the one to take ND to the next step and the so-called Savior of the program. The point is if Dante commits to ND now the narrative actually works in his favor with him being a class ahead it puts the pressure on if Carr's love of the program is true as we hope it is or is it just a easier path and great opportunity that he took.

I want both, plain and simply. I want to be über optimistic on the ND QB situation and see Buchner be so good that he goes pro after year 3 and during that time ND is blowing out teams that would allow Dante to get PT as a Freshman that allows him to hit the ground running as a Sophomore. From there Dante lights it up his Sophomore and Junior seasons which in turn like under Buchner allows Dante to leave early while and PT for Carr so he ready to go as Dante moves on.

This is the ideal situation IMO. This would not only give ND great QB play but great PR for the program but it would give them the track record to make recruiting a little easier.

I want to see ND QB recruiting to look like Clemson, tOSU and OU/USC with string of Top QB recruits almost every year. It's a numbers game and more talent is going to give you a better chance to have a stud QB. I know that's a no duh but some are going to bust, some will get hurt. Others will be studs stuck behind a fellow stud and some will stay while others transfer out but this is the best way to assure that you replace one stud with another.

Just going back to Clemson getting Trevor Lawrence they have got a ⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐ QB 4 out last 6 classes.
D.J. Uiagalelei is a talent but he might be missing that something but if he doesn't live up to his talents then they have 5 star Cade Klubnik ready for his chance. In a year they will have 5 star Christopher Vizzina available. After that they will most likely get another stud QB in '24 with 5 star QB's DJ Latest or Jaydin Davis being the most likely at this point.

Let's get stud QB talents year in and year out and let the chips fall where they may. Play no favorites just get them it will work itself out while getting great play year after year.

he hasnt committed to ND yet who “does things the right way”….therefore it must be all about the money And nothing else.

First, he has committed to ND. That’s kind of part of this whole thing. He committed to the ND staff in some fashion in February or March. He has not publicly announced to ND.

Second, I didn’t see this sentiment expressed when folks were pondering if maybe the reason ND was so confident was because ND had equipped him with a NIL deal. So this isn’t a matter of ND does things the right way, if many fan here’s were okay with ND taking the NIL route if it meant shutting down recruiting to land a 5 star QB.

Third, now we connect things. Dante has talked about what great relationships he has with Freeman, Rees etc. There is also a heavily reported sentiment for months that Dante would not leave the Midwest. There are other reasons, but when you start to connect all these things, it begs a logical question, why visit places you have apparently no plan to go to? For “fun”, “once in a lifetime experience”, “to be sure”. Well none of those reasons need 6+ months to check off. None involve needing to go back on your word to the staff. So the visits, the communication gaps, must be taking place for some other purpose.

I don't know... my sources tell me you are wrong but that you could also be right. You are probably 100% wrong but that just means you have a chance at being right.
People just need to learn to be critical without being insulting. Also need to understand this is a kid trying to make business sections that will affect the rest of his life. No pressure there. My biggest decision at 17 was if I was gonna buy the Kush kind bud or Blueberry sticky yum yum.

Just reading the last page it seems like Moore still has interest in Notre Dame.

Should ND stop recruiting him? We are acting like Carr is the savior and replacement, if you don't understand recruiting there are what if possibilities in all kids recruitment.

How will the fanbase react if Moore does commit to ND....

We should absolutely want him. He’s a very talented football player, has a 4.0 GPA, and according to people who actually cover recruiting, he’s a very humble and well-spoken young man. He’s a ND kind of young man.

How will we react? I'm confident the overall sentiment will be that we're over the moon. Until then, he's still stringing the staff along.
