Floyd should have been a 10 year starter. Very sad. Kupp went to EW. Guy restores faith in the little guy. He is unstoppable

Skowronek is as happy as a lark today.
Because Kupp bailed him out. He won’t be remembered fortunately. He missed an opportunity in this game and dropped the long pass for a TD against the niners. Hope he can make the squad next year but Woods will be back and I’m sure OBJ will as well. Thought McKinnley was a better WR but looks like Ben can play on ST.

There's another reason, but you've got to speak Polish.

The video. For comparison, Treylon Burks who is maybe the lead “big” WR went 4.55 (unofficial as well)

Truly unbelievable. He played the whole season like a 4.6+ guy.

Have to wonder if he was banged up a lot this year.

So after I said “big” WR I now see he weighed in at 200? So he either dropped a ton of weight for this or ND listed him at 215 for some reason.

Rooting for him to ball out and get drafted high, that's only good for our WR recruiting.

Were Del & BK obsessed with WRs being big?

Dude can run. Best of luck. Hope he hits like Claypool has (and will continue to).

Olave’s official time was .12 seconds off of his unofficial.

Edit: 4.43 is KA’s official time.

He couldn't get separation all season. Weird.

He averaged 18.5 yds/reception on 48 receptions. He may have struggled to get of press coverage at times but he hardly lacked the ability to create separation and make big plays. 18.5 yds/rec is the the 2nd best season from a #1 WR during the Kelly era. Will Fullers 2015 is the only one that beats it. Everyone got sucked into a extremely bizarre narrative about Austin and his physical abilities. Dudes a freak and struggled with consistency both on and off the field.

Who do we have teaching the 40 to these dudes

Obviously nothing but respect for Balis. What these guys do on campus year after year plays a role. But, all of these guys get professional training leading up to the combine to perfect things like the 40.

I'm confused.

Didn't we all know KA was a freak athlete that had some limitations largely brought on by bad positional coaching?

If he could have been taught to get out of press coverage *and* get a degree... who knows.

I'm hopeful that's exactly what our current coaching staff has in mind.

He made a lot of good contested catches.

False Kevin Stepherson averaged 18.5 yards per reception in 2016 as a Freshman and 18.9 yards per reception his SO Year.

So should be even playing field right.

I guess asking the second way is more appropriate. Does anyone know of another school who has had their bigger WRs have as surprising 40 times as we have had with Boykon, Claypool, Austin?

1. Let's not compare Balis and his program to get players ready for the grind of a FB season to these places that get guys ready to nail specific drills at the combine. It's apples and oranges.

2. I wonder if BK wanted his big WR's bigger on purpose? Then they drop the weight in preparation for the combine?

I want to be clear I did not think Balis was teaching the 40. I do wonder if his program has some portion of this success.

But I'm honestly curious did all three of these guys use same coaches?

All 3 of them surprised the hell out of me.

I would be surprised if Balis's program doesn't include some speed drills/training.

I don't know if they used the same guy or not, but I've noticed more of these places seem to popup every year.
