Just found Rock Island on the Google Machine. He lives closer to Iowa than Chicago.

Five star diamond out in the rough. Further proof that if you're good, they'll find ya.

Some Quad Cities folks about to be offended

This will come as a shock, but I'm not trying to be an asshole. I Didn't know where the place was. I assumed this was Chicago burbs.

I was going to post about the school's enrollment, but I'll take a hard pass on that. Is what it is. He's good but I assumed he was playing closer to CHI. Not that it matters.

Couple friends at ND were from his high school. It is a very Pro-ND environment.

I'm anxious for this one, I really want to see Harry start his first class off with a bang. A 5 star state wrestling champion is a phenomenal start and portends the things to come offensively.

Not a shot in hell any east side boys qualifying or coming to ND.
Yup. I heard someone claim that Rockford was "the ghetto part of Illinois" and I just laughed. Not while East St Louis (and to a much lesser extent Decatur) exist.

If ND had relocated to the El Toro Marine base in Irvine, CA they would've won 7 Natty's per decade.

And SC would've quit DI football and joined Cal Tech's conference.

We landed Kendall Abdur Rahman a few years ago out of Edwardsville (which I'm well aware is decidedly suburban) but yeah East St. Louis kids are not coming to Notre Dame.

My family used to run East St. Louis back in the day, America's Bloodiest Gang, but the E. St. Louis scene in Vacation was hilarious. Reminds me of when my dad accidentally got us into Watts, LA around 1984. He stopped to ask a mailman for directions and the guy yelled at him to get back on the highway and get out of Watts. We're from Gary, IN mind you, so his fear for our safety was funny/telling.

Anyway, East St. Louis isn't a traditional feeder area for ND :p

And most of the counties I lived in overseas have been attacked by Russia. Then again, the post-Soviet decay wasn't really that different from Gary so that felt like home as did a lot of the food.

Even had family who worked there! Best sausage I've ever had, they catered all our family's events. Oh man, that was good kielbasa.
Every Saturday morning in the summer that I stayed at my Grandparents, Gramps had me there scoring some sausage. Go home and fry it up in some scrambled eggs and eat it with homemade rye bread... and then head down the street to US 30 Dragstrip for the afternoon.

Good times.
