Russia is already at Kyiv. Ukraine has ordered all males 18-60 to remain in the country and be prepared to be armed. Citizens in Kyiv are already being armed to assist the military.

We’ve had 5+ years of Russia being a bad actor with no consequences poisoning people, arresting people, cyber attacks, invading other countries, etc. Need to start making there be a cost beyond “sanctions”… Putin doesn’t care if his people starve, same way Stalin didn’t.

I am not sure why we ever thought "diplomacy" would deter a dictator who only cares about territorial power. Putin knew sanctions would be severe. It was baked into the cake and he DGAF.

The only things that would cause Putin to think twice are dead bodies being sent back to Moscow and the likelihood of military defeat / embarrassment at the global stage. Ukraine is toast, no one is coming to defend them... let's pray to God that Putin doesn't get cocky and set his sights on Poland. In that instance, there will be way more American casualties than were ever at risk in Ukraine.
