Biden campaigned on picking a black woman for the Supreme Court and a woman for VP. To be fair, it was the party that cornered him into picking a black woman. His Veep pick was awful. She wasn't picked to deliver a state or because her superb acumen. She didn't even make it to the vote in Iowa. Her disapproval is somehow worse than Bidens. Now we're using the same logic to make a SCOTUS pick. I don't know anything about these contenders, but it is quite clear they are being filtered to the top for a reason.

To be fair, he hasn't done anything else that he campaigned on either.

Yeah he can say that and pick a qualified person for the position, no? I don't know any of those choices to say whether they're qualified or not.

Could you post the results from Mike Pence in Iowa? Just want to compare those results, if that's a factor you want to use.

The disapproval thing is interesting to me because I was told that those favorability polls because then that would be a +1 for Biden based on opinion polls if you're comparing presidents on that metric.

The pearl clutching about the hot mic didn't even get to open it's eyes before taking a second breath. A potential SCOTUS nominee now makes for a spectacular shit show that we probably don't deserve but will undoubtedly receive.

The Kavanaugh hearing was low in bipartisanship and a pivot in hostility in politics. There's no way this is on par with the Kavanaugh hearing. The Republicans are different and will likely choose not to wage war on this hill. It would be nice if they picked a nominee who was more mainstream that could get a 75-25 vote and not make a lot of headlines.

Breyer is a leftist and views the court as is opportunity to impose his views on the law, not interpret the law and it's quite likely that his replacement will be the same. We will still see a 5-4 majority from the conservative wing, so this shouldn't be earth-shattering.

I'm pretty sure my neighbor Pence has never ran for President. If the Dems actually think Kamala isn't a political dud, I would LOVE to see them run her for POTUS in 24.

Glad you could work through that excerise yourself! So by your logic, you're saying Pence was a bad choice for VP?

Nah this should be pretty chill all things considered. If the lady has ever said or written anything dumb, she'll get raked over the coals for that a bit but I doubt it will be anything memorable.

The smart move is to be professional about it and process the request efficiently and cordially. Would provide excellent contrast to the ACB and Kavanaugh lunacy. Voice your dislike of pick if you like but vote yes if they are remotely qualified.

unreal and dim. Pence was an excellent VP. He was there to balance Trump. He provided a whole lot of balance. He also didn't struggle on the stage and was generally clear of controversy.

Kamala doesn't balance Biden. Biden needed someone quick on their feet who could sell this dumpster fire. Someone they could keep a camera in front of. The problem is that neither of them is good in front of a camera. Kamala is not likable, can't deliver a punchline, and has gaffes of her own. Biden can't stop digging his own hole and she does nothing to help.
Pence never running is completely irrelevant.

Pence hasn't ever run for president, thus he hasn't ever been in the Iowa presidential caucus. Our current VP did run for president.

Maybe she was so bad you didn't realize this or forgot? :whoknows:

God, I hope you guys can get on the same page. Maybe argue with each other on the whole Iowa fiasco? lmao

She didn't even make it to the vote in Iowa.

Are primary results a good barometer of if a VP was a good pick? Under the Drayer method it's one of the core principals with polling numbers. I mentioned Pence because it doesn't factor into an assessment for him.

Who's upset? People have simply been pointing out the double standard. In all honesty, I watched the clip, and my take was that Biden was saying it in jest. Like, "C'mon, of course inflation is bad for me, dude." And then Biden is getting praised as a stand up guy because he called Doocy to "clear the air." Well, ok, that's something, I guess. I may be totally wrong, but as of yesterday morning (when I quit following the story), I also hadn't read that Biden actually apologized or said the actual words, "I am sorry." So again, it seems a double standard would be in play regarding Biden.

As for the second part of the bolded, you are again upset about the phrasing of the question. Please tell us when Biden is available to answer all these well-phrased questions from the media? There is a reason he is literally called "Hidin Biden." The president just days earlier that he wanted and needed to get out and campaign for other dems, and inflation is not only real, it is probably the biggest issue voters are concerned about. So Doocy asked, as Biden's handlers were, yet again, removing press. Was Doocy expected to wait another year for Biden's next press conference to ask him? And besides, it seems Biden understands Doocy and his role better than you, evidenced by this quote from Doocy regarding the matter: 'And we went back and forth, and we were talking about just kind of moving forward, and I made sure to tell him that I'm always gonna try to ask something different than what everybody else is asking. And he said, ‘You got to.’ And that's a quote from the president, so I'll keep doing it."

The victim blaming by you in the second part of the bolded is quite noble as well. I'm sure that goes over well when you ask a victim of domestic abuse, "Well, did your phrasing or composure maybe mean you deserved for your husband to beat the hell out of you?"

They never learn.

Confirming that Joe is in over his head and that Afghanistan wasn’t some inevitable CF.

I can't find it at the moment, but I saw a press conference during the campaign where Biden talked about withdrawing from Afghanistan and how it would be unconscionable to not fully evacuate everyone as well as leaving behind military equipment for the Taliban. His words were that we'd be creating a future problem for our children, essentially outfitting them for future retaliations and provocations. He was adamant the exit would be done the right way so none of that would happen. Oops.

EXCLUSIVE: Hunter Biden tried to broker a $120 million oil deal between Chinese energy firm now under US sanctions and former Kazakhstan prime minister who has been accused of treason in hopes of pocketing a fortune, laptop emails reveal

It's ok. He's just the kid. No big deal. He didn't get votes. Weird timing with the Biden crack pipe plan getting press this week.

The crack pipe plan was probably Hunter's idea from the start. He is the smartest guy Joe knows!

Like his crack plan, this has success written all over it.

Biden is planning on putting single migrant adults caught on the Mexican border under HOUSE ARREST in Baltimore and Houston as a 'cheaper' alternative to detention

We must allow everyone regardless of race the same access to crack as those who are not less fortunate. Joe has officially went over the deep end.

Biden administration to fund programs that hand out crack pipes to prevent infection and promote 'racial equity'
