I think the Tosh Baker ship has sailed and sunk.

HH is his life vest... maybe.

If Tosh can get healthy with the light switch in the on position, he has the ceiling to make up for all the developmental mistakes going back to playing basketball his Sr. year and the mishandling of his body freshman year.

I mean, if he does turn it around, HH is the type of guy who could persuade Fisher to become the next Q and move to LG. I doubt that will happen but HH is a practitioner of putting his favorite 5 guys on the field and making it happen.

We'll see. He could transfer to Washington, be a starting OT in '22 or be the next Hunter Biven. Who knows.

Pretty good article on Scrauth in 247. This isn't going to be one of those kids who cries when he gets pushed.

“I love him,” said Schrauth of Hiestand. “Our mindsets are a lot of the same stuff. He’s a master motivator from what I’ve seen so far. I love that. I want to be pushed to the limits that I don’t know I’m capable of and I think he’s going to be the guy that’s going to get me and the group where we’ve got to be.

“His overall intensity is different from what I’ve had with other coaches. He gets it. I like to play physical and you can tell that’s his style of ball. That’s what I’m going to give to our team.”

There is no spot for Wagner starting in 2023. I can’t see him starting until 2024 the earliest as I expect Joe Alt to be a top 10 NFL draft pick in 2024.

Was my thought as well, but I am not always the most creative person. I know people have talked about Fisher going inside so, I was just curious.

If Billy is comin and Kristofic stays, 2021 and 2022 were premature for some of the Rocco questions, but this spring becomes “the year” to see it or not possibly with Spindler.

Lets hope that Cross knows what he's talking about (re: what it actually takes to become one of The Five Fingers of Doom.) Raving about hands makes me think that
once Schrauth grabs you, you stay grabbed and out of that play. Reminds me of what
they used to say about Braxton Cave --- if he could figure out the right guy to block, that guy STAYED blocked.

I'd very much like to think that we had a mauler terminator on the way to take one of those guard positions next year. Very Merry Christmas comment by Cross.

Good to hear about Billy. If he can lock down one of the guard spots then that leaves only one for competition between Kristofic, Spindler etc.

I think Spindler will be a starter next year.

With Billy he's an OL from Wisconsin, what's not to like about that. He could be next in line for an injury to a starter.

The comment: " Will be a starter ... for an injury to a starter ... " ugh.
Off tune commentary for my tastes. (One guy isn't a universal back-up for all positions anyway. Ignorance of OLine play or not written as intended?)

Causes a reflection on our OLine though probably understood by us all:
We have the opportunity to really reload this Line for many years to come.
Consider a speculative OLine next season of Alt// Kristovic// Correll// Schrauth// Fisher (flip your guards to your taste.) Or consider Alt// Fisher// Correll// Schrauth// Rouse even. Then what's the Bench? L-O-A-D-E-D

Guys like Jagusah, Wagner, Baker, Carmody, Chan, Abshur, Spindler, Craig, Coogan, etc waiting as a hoard of monsters --- how many teams would sell their souls for that bunch? If Coach Harry wants to retire here (that was the statement he made when he was hired the first time) he's going to "discover" two or three new Billy Schrauths every year. Another thing to remember is that college teams have historically needed to recruit only four OLine per year (for several reasons long discussed on IE.) AND you don't need to hit on every one of them (Two per year is adequate, though three useful would be nice.)

If Kristofic doesn't enter the transfer portal I think he grabs one of the starting Guard spots. That would leave Spinder and Schrauth to battle for the last open spot, which is absolutely fantastic thing.

Weird post and should probably go in the OL thread but I'll play:

T - Alt
G - Schrauth
C - Correll
G- Fisher
T - Baker

Only swap I'd make is potentially kick Fisher out to T and put Kristofic in at G

Honest question, why are people trying to push Fisher inside? He seems pretty athletic/ has the measurables to play tackle. Haven’t noticed him being a liability as well.

I think because of his size. 6'6" 330 Ibs reminds people of when Big Q was here, minus an inch and five pounds.
