Shifting over to the positive of the day - exceptional recruiting job. Exactly the talent that takes the position group to the next level. Just need to find a way to have talent like this on campus in August.

Bump. One bright spot on the defensive side today. Just won’t be on the roster for 2 years. :/

Agreed! It would be great IF Peyton ends up being an EE. Getting that spring practice time in at the college level would be great for him AND the team.

I think lost in the Lincoln to USC was how Venables is still a fucking dog on the trail and field of course comes in when we happen to had a decent start to prioritizing Texas.

Very curious to hear the aftermath of this given MF is a new “regime” in handling committed prospects. I’d guess pretty damn mad considering they’ve visited Guyer a few times and it appears Venables convinced I’m guessing a handful of Guyer kids to make the trip.

Keep recruiting him and the rest of the board like it’s 2 months ago.

Taking a visit is one thing. Not ideal but not a the worst thing. If he took a visit and tried to hide it to the staff that he just committed to and that just visited him, thats a pretty bad message.

The staff is pissed. So chances are it was hidden from them too.

I'd be pissed too, BUT the DB class is gonna be good because they gonna get a ton of them anyway. One of them has to hit IMO.

Also in Venables defense, safeties aren't the focal point of the defense. The front seven are. Name one big time Clemson safety?

Freeman's D is better for DBs.

Freeman's D doesn't have a leader remember.

Couldn't agree more. Also, might be a good idea to revisit the easing up on the "no visits to other schools" policy that occurred during Covid.

Common man. UGA doesn't have a DC yet either and everyone knows Kirby Smart runs that defense. It's going to be the same way at Notre Dame going forward.

Freeman. Freeman is the leader.

I think Arnold might be in his ear.

Take the Charlie Weis approach- if you are looking so are we.

Agreed. I think ND needs safeties from a numbers standpoint not just a talent standpoint. I would try to get 3 safeties in the class because if someone flips, you still come away with 2; and you absolutely got to have 2.

They're probably losing 3 safeties after 2022. If Xavier Watts goes back to WR, numbers get pretty tight, even if Bellamy ends up at safety which remains to be seen.
