Played down to their competition today but it was a good win vs a decently athletic team in a trap game.

Every player stepped up in a way to win which is a bright spot in this W.

No box score on ESPN but we must have had 20 turnovers. Really kept the game close in spite of our obvious advantage in things like shooting and rebounding. Wesley had a bunch of those turnovers.

They played lazy and uninspired today. Really disappointing to watch...

Yes, but hardly unexpected. They are playing Howard in the middle of a Monday afternoon for their 4th game in 8 days. While looking at a brief few days off before playing 3 more games in 7 days that are likely to be the difference between being middle of the pack ACC or top third of ACC. They can win all three. This was predictable. Doesn't mean it should happen, but completely understandable of why it did.

What chances do you think ND has of making the NCAA tourney? Would be awesome to get back in after a few years of missing out. I see that they have 14 games left...but only 1 is against a team that is currently ranked (Duke). There are some tough road games though...having to travel to Miami and FSU to name a few. I'm thinking that if ND can go 10-4 to close the regular season out and then win at least 1 game in the ACC tournament, they'd probably be in. Anyone think that's a realistic possibility with this group?

10-4 would be terrific and beyond my expectations. It would either get us a bid or cause a lot of justified screaming on our part.

I think we'll be closer to 8-8 but have a very low confidence level. This team is up and down so much who knows what they'll do.

If we go 8–8 over the next 14 games… We have a problem

Thought this was worth sharing. I know Brey has really produced some underachieving teams the last couple years, but I appreciate this aspect of his character. He seems like a genuinely good dude, and it appears that is the case. There’s a reason he can still get guys like Wesley and Starling to campus, even with his lack of recent success.

We are benefiting from a unusually down year for the ACC. I think it is giving people false confidence in this team's true ability.

I like Wesley but think he will need to improve his shooting to be a better NBA prospect as a somewhat undersized dude (by NBA standards). Yes he can create shots but he needs to drop more of them. He is a respectable shooter but far from a pure one (68% FT, 31.6% 3pt, 43.7% from the field) - sadly all of those marks tower over Prentiss Hubb (62.6% FT, 28.8% 3PT, 33.1% FG). NBA guard needs to be a lethal shooter and a lock on the charity stripe, IMO.

I don’t see it happening. We were in the midst of a 6 game win streak and still weren’t on any bracketology lists, including those they had as the eight out. Then we went and lost to the bottom team in the ACC. A pipe dream in my opinion.

There already is a problem. I'm rarely a Debbie Downer, but I am so over Brey as the MBBC. Howard pressed their way back into the game forcing four or five turnovers in a row. Refusing to go deeper into your bench creates fatigue and turnovers come a lot easier when you're fatigued. The inability to recruit at a level to maintain a decent squad has been apparent for several years. I appreciate what he's done over the years, but his best days are behind him.

This team played five games in 12 days and won four yet this thread is a poster for depression. Yikes.

I'm sure nobody is spunking on mom's paneling in the basement about it, but this was a hell of a win, especially after "almost loosing" to Howard earlier this week.

Almost losing sounds a lot like winning. Maybe Brey needs a pair of sunglasses and a Raiders jacket. Another good win

That's the kind of game that I expected from this experienced team...Louisville shot lights out in the first half...Notre Dame matched, and then surpassed their shooting by staying composed and playing team ball.

Great game all around. I certainly expected this team to shoot better from outside than they’ve shown this season…but 15-23 from outside (65%) is incredible. If they can stay hot from outside, they could make some serious noise in the ACC. Gotta take care of business vs NC State next week because they’ve got a really tough 3 games in 6 days (Virginia, Duke and @ Miami) coming up after that.

Anything to be said about Brey has already been said at this point.

He's rotating seven kids, essentially, and it's them I'm rooting for above all else.

Entering 4 games in 7 days. Brey's short bench will bite us in the ass eventually. Thankfully 3 of the 4 are at home.

Another solid win.

ACC is not peak this year, but they still need fill out the NCAA brackets somehow. If they manage to get two of three from UVA / Duke / Miami, they will have a pretty good chance of making it IMO.

Credit where it's due: Hubb was great last night and has been playing much better. Wesley had one of his worst games of the year and the fact Hubb and Nate played so well really made up for it. That is probably the difference in a couple of those early losses like TAMU and SMC.

Oddly blacked out so I couldn't watch last night, frustrating being that I am in NC State's backyard. I really don't understand what the ACC Network is doing.

I'm with Rogue - want to see the young men be successful. Very frustrating they haven't been put in better position for success.

Just want to point out ND Men's basketball 11-3 since Marcus Freeman became head football coach (11-2 if you go by the introductory press conference).

I’ll take this year’s version of Brey for next year with no reservations. Problem is he gets complacent especially on the recruiting trail.

A new AD might solve that.

He’s got a stellar class coming in this fall. But he needs to do that every year in today’s game and historically doesn’t.

But you have to be happy with the way things have evolved this year. We could be the second best team in the ACC
