So the excitement for me comes from the fact that Freeman will now be recruiting offense as well as defense.
I like the sound of that.

That's my only concern with this. HC has a lot of duties, has to meet with boosters and other rep bullshit. The dude has a young family too, can we really expect him to take additional recruiting duties on with all this? I think someone else is gonna have to step up, otherwise he's going to be overwhelmed. I want him to succeed and not burn out, cause that's what happens to the most successful coaches at ND. The good ones had to retire because the job was killing them.

Good point but I still think obviously our recruiting will improve because I cant see him switching off his talent for recruiting. He can step back from the detail of the D coaching a bit.

Obviously Freeman is not as experienced as BK was coming in.
But if you look at BKs career he was always a head coach starting from at small schools aged 31. I bet his stubbornness comes from that. He would never have had the benefit of having a great coach above him or maybe even underneath him.
Whereas Freeman has able to watch and learn from Fickle and now BK.

Obviously it’s self serving as a ND fan to hope Freeman succeeds but he really seems like one of the good guys in this profession. I’ve never seen such as outpouring of support for a guy. Would be awesome for someone like that to finicky it out of the park. Good luck Coach.

Wasn't Moore the guy that Kelly recruited himself? I mean, he's the only decommit, so I'm wondering just how much effort should go into him with that being said. It was a very united front for 48 hours and he jumped. Few others jumped with him.

Kelly leaving has turned out to be the best case scenario that Irish fans could have asked for. Freeman and staff will continue to recruit like rock stars. Rees will now have the ability to call plays without Kelly looking over his shoulder. I would love to see Freeman bring in Hartline to be the WR coach and maybe a Co OC, I doubt it will happen but dream big boys! Its a great day to be IRISH!
