Really says a lot about Freeman that these guys are choosing to stay when they have a decades long relationship with Kelly and a huge payday waiting for them at LSU They've known Freeman for like 9 months.

It says a lot about Freeman. It says more about Notre Dame and the culture of the school and program.

Whoa so who is the DC going to be? Outside hire I guess right? Unless Mickens gets promoted I guess.

On Irish Breakdown one of the guys mentioned that both Freeman/Rees went to Jack to told him to do whatever it took to keep Elston. Makes sense, he has the experience of ND and can help the young coaches navigate the politics.

Guys — on Hiestand… he’s an awesome coach, but my understanding is that he doesn’t have the option to come back to ND because of some of his conduct. Don’t know if that’s changed, but that was the case when he left for the Bears.

Damn it, Lax! I'll sacrifice a herd of goats if it gets HH back in good graces. Strengthen this OL and we're getting serious about the future here!

Watt was arranging for our OL to meet at Hiestand's house for supplemental coaching recently. They apparently felt like Quinn's coaching wasn't sufficient.

Thanks. I see Leppy's point now. But he was sorta doing the right thing too- ha!

Were these the grads for draft from this past offseason, or current guys that were still on team?

Was going to post the same but couldn't word it as well as you. I feel like we've said this hundred times by now.

It’s been so awesome seeing Tommy all these years (almost my entire time on IE) always gonna remember the 2010 USC game, the times he stepped up in 2012, and him leading the team after uncertainty in 2013. Glad to see him grow into an honorable coach. As for Freeman as HC…it seems like good news. Players are happy and gives a whole new vibe around our program. That being said in my lifetime I remember Bob Davie becoming coach and it not working out well. I also remember Charlie Weis having the passion for ND and it also fizzling out. Much like anyone else I won’t drink the Kool-Aid until I see the results but the vibe seems good around all of this.
