The other factor which I haven't seen anyone mention is the number of unsold tickets recently. The days of the sellout streak are long gone.

Unsold tickets hit ND in the pocket. Swarbrick really needs to do the right thing to generate some more hype and energy in the program.

Not sure if Sleepy Luke accomplishes that.

I have been reading about this situation "religiously" for the past 24 or so hours. I have come to the conclusion that I need to not be so invested in it. We can't control it, whatever happens, happens. Stepping back a bit and waiting is all we can do.

Haha this Zorich show is great and I’m only 4:00 in. Wes Pritchett already said Kelly was too soft and goes “we would’ve scared that guy”.

Just finished watching it myself.... a fucking Heisman Trophy winner can't get free tickets/booth to a game????? I am now starting to think this is not all or on BK.... I think it is going WAY deeper into the administration.... I guess this is what happens when you have Priests running the show.... and I'm Catholic and don't trust the 'Church'.....

you would think an AD could take care of that......

There should be as many ND FB Alums on the field at all times. I never - ever even thought about it until that podcast. The ONLY people I remember seeing on the field outside of anniversary dates is bowl games - and it has been either Theismann, Bon-Jovi or Vince Vaughn.... that is pure Bull-Shit.... ND should be letting every player EVER played and represented the Irish on the field, stands, booth whenever they want. Something better change starting NOW with Freeman being HC and opening the gates to former Irish FB alumni

Since most of y’all keep up with more of the outside ND college football world…would Fickel actually get us past the ceiling BK has or would he be more of the same? Is it Freeman or bust?

I'm assuming that it's going to be Freeman and they are just doing the negotiation dance right now. Each side trying to use whatever leverage they can to make the finances work to their advantage.

Per footballscoop....SIAP.

It feels like if Freeman isn't Notre Dame's head coach moving forward … he's likely to be Cincinnati's head coach with the Duke Blue Devils having an outside opportunity to land Freeman. A former Broyles Award finalist, Freeman also has not only a standing offer to join Kelly at LSU as defensive coordinator but also has received an offer from an additional Power 5, CFP contender to be that program's defensive play-caller.

That scenario would almost assuredly mean that the Fighting Irish focused their search on Fickell, a national coach of the year candidate and Freeman's former boss at Cincinnati. Fickell has guided Cincinnati to a 12-0 regular season and No. 4 CFP ranking in the latest polls.

Who else is a CFP contender that would be an option? Not UGA, not Bama, can't imagine UM. Only makes sense that it's OSU since we all know OSU is going to shitcan Coombs.

EDIT....also forgot to copy this in.....

Sources tell FootballScoop that multiple Notre Dame assistant coaches – notably offensive coordinator Tommy Rees, heralded strength and conditioning coach Matt Balis, defensive line coach/recruiting coordinator Mike Elston among them – all could potentially have joined Kelly on his flight Tuesday to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, as Kelly assumed control of the LSU Tigers' program.

OSU if they lose Day to the Bears and Fickell is already at ND?

Freeman now. If anybody else, ND is back to circa 1997 - re: current and upcoming recruits

I hope you’re right.

Sorry for whoever I offend, but Jack-off needs to go.....I've NEVER liked him as AD... his welcome has been way worn out.

In the presser, he sounded like BK broke up with him, but his love is still strong. The entire presser was goofy as hell.

His emphasis of the CEO role as a major characteristic has been prime ND football the last 12 years... detrimentally speaking. Yea, let’s keep those golf outings on lock to keep the checks flowing while Saban is busy meeting recruits at their schools and shaking hands with their grandmas’ grandmas.

Nah I saw Miles Boykin on the field for UNC this year and Claypool earlier as well. I remember seeing quite a few on the field as well as a student in 2019

Looks like it’s basically Freeman or Rees. I think Rees is getting an interview just out of respect. Can’t imagine actually giving it to him knowing you then lose Freeman, when the opposite is not true. Campbell is in play though.

Is he though? I'm sure he'd take the job but I highly doubt he's be considered right now.

So these reports that we aren’t pursing Freeman pretty much mean we are kinda sorta fucked?

I’m hoping it’s diversion politics. If Jack has a spine, he drops a surprise press conference tomorrow at EXACTLY the same time as Kelly introducing Freeman as the RIGHT coach in the nation for ND and the main reason for why ND is a CFP candidate BECAUSE of Freeman this year. With Freeman stating he told Kelly to fuck off at his weasly 7 am choke job team meeting, and that he will be retaining Elston, Rees, Balis, Taylor, Mickens, and anyone else loyal because Kelly can’t buy sellouts just because he was bought out.

You should have watched the podcast with Zorich, a few names is not the norm to powerhouses like Bama, GA, and others always on the field repping their alma mater

Had this thought, what is more likely, all the players, former players and media are legit campaigning for Freeman who could or could not be the next HC or they are laying social media groundwork and footprint for something already in motion?

I don’t know if that many people can keep that secret.

This is exactly what I thought. The "campaign" for Freeman seems very coordinated. Like it is being run by a social media team not just the players doing it randomly.

I don’t really. Just reading the tea leaves. So much smoke for Freeman with all the stuff that happened before Kelly even left, in addition to the stuff from the last couple days. He’s clearly the inside track.

With Rees it’s pretty clear from the Sampson and other tweets he is getting an interview but wants to stay regardless.

Campbell is just rumors that some of the admin like him and he would be very interested in the job.
