These rumors don’t really matter. Freeman will be NDs coach, Cincinnati’s coach, or a DC somewhere else. He’s not staying at ND to be a DC regardless.

ND blew a chance with Urban, when it was clear back then that he and Dan Mullen had elite coaching ability. Instead of going with the younger, more energetic guy, they went with Kevin Rodgers and Urban bolted the first real chance he got. Rest is history.

There are just some guys that you know are going to be stars. Freeman is one of those guys. Don't over think it and wonder for the next 20 years what could have been, like Urban.

LSU doesn’t want Quinn reportedly and neither does ND. He gone but not to Baton Rouge.

Grunhard was on a podcast and he called Quinn a terrific coach, but he's dealing with some health issues and he speculated that it's possible he may even retire.

Swarbrick may not appreciate his hand being forced but sometimes you eat shit and make the best of it. Worst thing he can do is drag his feet and jack up the obvious win in front of him. Maybe you should take the fact that the team and recruits all want the same guy as a sign

The Illuminati are controlling all of this. Brian Kelly is still the head coach of nd football and this is a ploy to bring out the sec scum that is intertwined into the ncaa. Hes actively controlling the program behind closed doors with protection from the fucking old guard from this website. We will make the playoffs and be crowned champions and BK will become the Phoenix of this great sport. The people that recently took over this site are part of the cabal that intend to break our lady and spiral us into joining a conference. Trust the plan. Lee corso is Q.

Are you Tom Hanks?

Not sure why people think it’s taking too long to announce. Jack may have offered, but they have to agree on terms and then have the attorneys cross the T’s and dot the I’s. This can’t be done in a couple of hours. Jack would look foolish if he announced Freeman then they couldn’t come to an agreement.

If this is at me,… I’m surprised no leaks of progress or preferences are happening, not that something hasn’t been completed.

Per footballscoop....SIAP.

It feels like if Freeman isn't Notre Dame's head coach moving forward … he's likely to be Cincinnati's head coach with the Duke Blue Devils having an outside opportunity to land Freeman. A former Broyles Award finalist, Freeman also has not only a standing offer to join Kelly at LSU as defensive coordinator but also has received an offer from an additional Power 5, CFP contender to be that program's defensive play-caller.

That scenario would almost assuredly mean that the Fighting Irish focused their search on Fickell, a national coach of the year candidate and Freeman's former boss at Cincinnati. Fickell has guided Cincinnati to a 12-0 regular season and No. 4 CFP ranking in the latest polls.

Who else is a CFP contender that would be an option? Not UGA, not Bama, can't imagine UM. Only makes sense that it's OSU since we all know OSU is going to shitcan Coombs.

EDIT....also forgot to copy this in.....

Sources tell FootballScoop that multiple Notre Dame assistant coaches – notably offensive coordinator Tommy Rees, heralded strength and conditioning coach Matt Balis, defensive line coach/recruiting coordinator Mike Elston among them – all could potentially have joined Kelly on his flight Tuesday to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, as Kelly assumed control of the LSU Tigers' program.

For example?

Basically compared BK to Ty... Both golfers.

If your HC is a good golfer, it means he's a bad recruiter.

Bunch of former ND greats on the chat as well. Rocket, Prichett, Tim Brown, Corey Mays etc... Complaining about how the administration doesn't listen to them.

Dug a little deeper, and the Columbus flight EDIT: It’s a WheelsUp plane, it originated in DC, was in SBN for 30 minutes, and went on to Columbus

The Norman plane is owned by a cattle company so not as worried there

Freeman is buying some livestock for his new farm in Norman.

Any reason we are supposed to be interested in these.flights?

Not particularly, but there’s rumors of Freeman taking over as DC for OSU, this Columbus flight is a private charter through wheels up. Could be completely unrelated, but in these times it does look a bit interesting.

The Norman flight is nothing, but with OU looking for a new staff, it’s interesting to see a non-stop from the OU airport into South Bend

The former players on the Zorich are blasting ND. Tim Brown talking about until Reggie Brooks started working in the monogram program, he couldn't get a ticket to the game.

Correct. Since Rees has been eliminated as a candidate, the job is Freeman's. Like you pointed out, an external hire would bring his own staff/coaches.

This is similar to the nationwide search for the OC position. I hope I am wrong but I think the decision has been made. The question is when they will announce Freeman as HC.

Why not ask Freeman to become the interim coach? My guess is that Freeman was offered interim and he declined. Freeman is negotiating to become the head coach. A coach with Freeman's resume "negotiating" would be absurd, but Kelly's shocking departure has given Freeman PR leverage. The admin has been caught off guard and have no leverage. Now you have players and delusional fans pushing for him on social media. It really blows my mind. He has NO head coach experience and little coordinator experience. He is not going to out recruit the semi pro teams; and due to his inexperience, he lacks the ability to out scheme or out gameplan the big boys. Promoting him will be disaster.

Could be right. So what's the alternative?

Which is why he wanted Tommy. He could control him versus a guy like Moorehead. BK is a tiny man.

This.

Which is why I am hopeful that Tommy would rather stay at ND and have full control of the offense now rather than continuing to out up with BK's crap at LSU. This will be the first opportunity for Tommy to experience ND without BK.

Plus, his father is on staff.

Just finished watching it myself.... a fucking Heisman Trophy winner can't get free tickets/booth to a game????? I am now starting to think this is not all or on BK.... I think it is going WAY deeper into the administration.... I guess this is what happens when you have Priests running the show.... and I'm Catholic and don't trust the 'Church'.....

It was a good show, they compared BK to Huston Nutt at Ole Miss... Tom said he sees him having a good year 1 and year 2 only to struggle to win an sec game after that. Guess BK really was a lazy recruiter.

So what’s the hold up? To a man, every person on that show said it NEEDS to be Freeman.
