The one with the shield that spits the rollers out at you? If so, you need a projectile attack that you likely don't have.

Yes, but there’s literally no where else to go,... oh well

I'm on a quest to Platinum Jedi: Fallen Order. Currently trying to 100% Miktrull's Tomb, aka gathering a couple of echoes, scans and 'secrets' that I couldn't access the first time.

Taking my time and not finishing the main story, because I'm having a blast and don't want it to end... and I also don't want to be in a position where I'm finished with the main story and wasting time waiting for my terrarium to grow lol.

There are a few trophies that I think are going to be pains in the ass regardless, like defeating an enemy with ONLY kicks, but I'll deal with the grind when it's absolutely necessary.

It was the big bug with the shield,... I only tried 3 times but he blocked everything I tried,... I’m done lol. Like I said it’s just not for me I guess. About to pop in the show

The only enemy that fits that description in Green Path is a Moss Knight:

3 x Vengeful Spirit + 1 nail hit is the easiest way to kill them. If you don't have enough soul, just bait out its melee combo and dash in for a couple hits before it resets.

Thanks Whis but it’s not just him,... I’m just drained,... this game is too much. On a plus I just struck out 20 in the show,....

Is it an Elder Baldur?

You just shoot them from distance with your first spell, Vengeful Spirit, which you get in the Ancestral Mound. If you run out of soul, wait for him to throw some Baldurs at you and hit those to fill up again.

Where else can I read about Mexican food?

Speaking of Mexican food, I'm meeting my wife and kids for Mexican in about 15 mins when I close up shop at work.

I've been daydreaming about the shredded beef chimichanga I'm about to devour. I would go to war for this shredded beef. I would build a kingdom for this shredded beef.

I'm thinking about trying Hades again. Does the combat get any better? Or does it basically stay the same? I just don't remember having a great time with it but everyone keeps talking it up.

On your note tho,... julios in El Paso, very high end Mexican joint which on its own is strange,... but man, they have legit the best chimi plate I think I’ve ever had,.... if you’re ever in town for some god forsaken reason, my treat

I never got tired of the combat, so maybe I'm not the right one to ask. What was your issue with it? I found the different Aspects and the diversity of boon combinations kept things fresh.

Decided the time hast come,.... it may take weeks but I’m popping in castlevania 1... and will beat 1,2 and 3 in order. I’ve beaten 1 (once), beaten 2 many times and,....... despite it being one of my fav games ever I’ve never beaten 3. That all ends this summer.

Castlevania 1 is done and dusted,... tho it was an endeavor for reasons I didn’t expect. I got to drac on my first attempt. All three lives (I died but gained some extra lives) and holy water with tons of hearts,... I hit his head for the last shot of his first form and the mutant Cookie Monster is gonna be toast because my holy water can freeze him,...... and the game freezes.

So, I do it all over again,... get past death easy with holy water,... struggle through the last part of the castle, get back to Drac,... and,... same shit. Thank goodness I love this game. So I clean the cart out real well with alcohol and let it sit overnight.

Today I pop it on and it’s actually glitching worse graphically but when I knock Dracs head off all goes well. I’m still with the holy water and massive hearts so, boom. Cookie Monster done and dusted,.... look on in awe peasants!!! On to Simon’s Quest!!!

Been playing Monster Hunter World on PS4 again recently after we got a buddy into it. I don't know what it is, but I enjoy the hell out of a Capcom RPG. Loved the Breath of Fire series BoF I - BoF III, anything after that was meh. Dragon's Dogma was excellent. I never got in to any of the Monster Hunter games till World, but I dig it. It's got the steep learning curve of Dark Souls, but the combat is so much better and incredibly satisfying when you slay something. There's so many different ways to play, and they're all viable. The difficulty level is there, but if you get stuck you can always call some buddies or fire an SOS flare. Like Dark Souls there's not much of a plot to speak of nor are the characters that memorable, but you come for the combat. the crazy gear, and the cool monsters. I don't know what it is, but there's just something about killing some big ass dragon and then using it's head or it's spine to craft a helmet or big ass sword.

I just finished the Iceborn expansion for the first time, although there's still a million things to do. The game really doesn't get started until you finish the main story, because there's new fights they've added that top the final fight from the story. The Honest Trailer pretty much hits the nail on the head and describes it well.

ACamp1900 If you can beat the Castlevanias and Ninja Gaiden on NES then Hollow Knight should be a cakewalk!
I still agree that the game is over-hyped though.

This is too funny. I literally started playing Monster Hunter Rise on the Switch last week because a friend of mine told me to. Since I was looking for a new game, I figured it was worth a shot. Been a blast so far. Haven't ran into anything too crazy difficulty wise, there is just a ton of information that I feel like they dont do a great job explaining to you. Or I'm too lazy to read all the tutorials.

I've been tentative posting it on here because I feel like it is such a niche game. But I have enjoyed it since it's completely different than the usual games I play.

Idk,... all three frustrate but yeah. You could say the others did take me like 30 years to beat so,....

Fought what I assume to be one of the final bosses in 'Jedi: Fallen Order' last night. Had to go back to the spooky planet with the tribal magic users.

Fought this gentleman who was giving me fits. Like many games, you get into a good rhythm of figuring out the block/evade/attack pattern, start to feel good, get them down to half a health bar... and then the status quo has been changed!

He adds a few extra unblockable attacks that require *perfect* timing to evade and avoid a one-hit KO, and also adds an extra ranged attack to keep you from closing in with the usual timing.

I kept whittling him down to a quarter health bar, then I'd get too aggressive and get myself killed at the very end of the fight.

Finally, I got to the same spot, and I guess I hit him with a force attack at just the right time, because it staggered him and then wiped out his last 25% health all in one go. It actually felt anti-climactic at that point after so many attempts, because I wasn't anticipating THAT attack being the defining blow. I also have a suspicion that the game will auto-adjust the difficulty after so many deaths, without actually changing the settings in the settings menu. That would be disappointing, because I've felt a pretty good sense of accomplishment for playing on 'Hard' difficulty through a really tough game, when I usually just play on default settings.

Beat Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales last night on Bonebreaker difficulty. Loved The Witcher III and Gwent in particular, so figured I'd give it a whirl. High production value and good narrative (as you'd expect from CD Projekt Red), but the core game mechanics are pretty rough. The "battles" (which are all Gwent-style card games) vacillate between too easy and stupidly difficult, and the economy it utilizes for gating upgrades isn't well designed. Might be worth checking out if you're a huge Sapkowski fan, but I otherwise wouldn't recommend it.

So Castlevania 2 is pretty damned easy now that I know exactly where to go and such in which order etc,... got the best ending for the first time ever.

CV3,.... GEEZ, still the hardest game ive ever played. For me, harder than Gaiden. I FINALLY got past the water dragon that held me up as a kid and am in the castle but good lord this game gets insane after that. I’m gonna beat it (I think) but it’ll take a while. And yes, I’m sure the same is true for hollow knight ulk but I’m actually having fun with the vanias and Gaiden so there it is.

Castlevania 2 was always about the weird crap, like crouching against a wall for 5 seconds while holding a particular jewel. When you strip those few oddities out the game is a lot of fun and is my favorite of the trilogy. CV3...so tough though. I can't remember, did you play Bloodstained 2? I started it, but I'm waiting for my buddy to quit worrying about Covid so we can play it 2 player. It's supposed to be like the spiritual successor to CV3.

I haven't played Rise yet, just Monster Hunter World. I was gonna wait till it comes to PC or PS4...err...probably PS5 at this point. I like what I've seen so far on Rise though. Seems like they've cut out some of the more time consuming elements of Monster Hunter to get you to the action quicker, like the dog mount thing for quicker travel. I'm kinda new to the series, but I've really enjoyed it so far. It's fun as hell getting online with a buddy, clutch clawing onto a monster's face and stunning him into a wall and watching him get knocked out lol. Then you slash the crap out of him until he gets up.

I’ve played all three, Ritual was good, Curse 1 was great and I’m about two thirds through Curse 2 now,... much harder than 1. I assume you’re talking about the two player mode on CotM 2??

Yeah, we both bought CotM hoping to co-op during the pandemic, then we're disappointed to find out it's local only. I started playing a bit of it, looks fun, but we're waiting till his family is all vaccinated by his choice to resume game nights.
