Caught his drive. You would think an all American center could snap a decent ball. The snaps that weren't over Pyne's head barely made it.

Just threw a dime long ball to for a TD!

Imo Pyne is throwing the best ball of any QB in this game. Incredibly quick release with great accuracy! Definitely looks small, but I’m very pleased with this young man!

Payne’s plying extremely well. In 3 drives he’s led his team to score 17 points.

That pass looked very nice.
He will move up the rankings.

He should get a huge bump at 247 who has at 743 overall. I think a performance like this makes that ranking look stupid.

247 is obsessed with measurables and how skill positions players look in shorts. Pyne is ranked where he is because of his stature and arm strength and athleticism. None of that is changing, so they are going to ding him for his "upside."

The truth is that his game is a lot like Jake Fromm's, and if he was 2 inches taller he'd probably be a top rated player.

Sounds like a QB already on the roster.

A "Gamer". Yeah, sounds like the description of someone on the roster indeed. A back handed compliment to be sure. Kind of like saying "for a fat girl, she doesn't sweat much".

I agree that this performance does make that ranking look stupid. However, do you actually have faith in 247 to make the correct rankings bump? I don't.

'Should' being the key word. I don't think they'll put him where he should be but it seems obvious he can play on the same field with those other good to elite players. #743 overall seems reserved for a guy that couldn't compete at all in that environment. So, I'll say he does get a meaningful bump to something like 400-500. He's got to be the lowest rated recruit at one of the 2 major AA games by 247.

Yeah 247 ranking of Pyne is stupid. the other two services have Pyne in the top 200. And as you mentioned it's all because of his measurements. Saying that he has a stronger arm then advertised and at this point in his career is further along than where Ian Book was. All ND fans count Pyne out, but I wouldn't. The kids skill set reminds me of Baker Mayfield.

I like what he brings to the table wouldn't be surprised if he starts at some point in his career her, no idea when it would be but i think it's definitely possible.

Spring ball in 2021 is going to be very interesting with or without Buchner. Not sure if he is going to be an early enrollee or not. Jurkovec, Clark, and Pyne splitting reps.

Pyne looks like a guy who can play if you need him. Probably as an injury replacement rather than a "win the job in August" type.

But a good guy to have because QB's get hurt and if the backup is clueless you lose.

You've just guaranteed that he will start for 3 years.

Bump as I look over the stuff from the last week. Something that I do think Pyne can duplicate at the next level quite well is timing, ball placement, and throwing to spots or windows. I think he's very good, once he understands the route concepts, at putting the ball in spots for completions.

Best line of the broadcast from the game in reference to Drew. "He comes from the fertile recruiting grounds of western Ct."

That is pretty funny. But in all honesty it’s the best recruiting grounds in the North East outside of Jersey.

Here we go off the top of my head:
John Sullivan
Silas Redd
khari Fortt
Steve Young
Connor Hanratty
Drew Pyne
Corey Johnson
CJ Holmes
Tarik black
Andrew Stueber
Brandon Sebastian

The spirit of Reesus will settle upon Pyne once Book retires. He'll leave ND a 3-year starter.

And Aaron Hernandez. Some real killer talent out of there.

That literally is what someone said on Page 1 of the Reesus recruiting thread.

You may have anointed him the next QB, as others pointed out.
