Let's not forget about John Goodman. I know he's not rated as high as some of our current WR prospects, however, he is of the same mold as the Shark. They're about the same heighth, and weight, and have the same good speed, so I think we're gonna be OK

Well, he was the 3rd WR offered by the staff only beind Floyd, and Buckner and I've heard many on the staff wanted to offer Goodman even before Buckner.

He must be oblivious to hijacking every thread known to man.

Oh, whatever. A thread isn't hijacked until people start responding to an off-topic post, which happens to be exactly what you're doing here. And if you're going to complain about hijacking, why not go look at some of the other threads that have, um, taken a detour today (see "McCarthy, Daniel")?

Rockne's just an enthusiastic dude with lots of questions. No need to be a playground bully.

They're about the same heighth, and weight, and have the same good speed, so I think we're gonna be OK. Also, on campus we have Robby Parris, who got injured his senior season in HS, and by all accounts looked pretty good in spring drills. Throw in Kamara coming in this fall, I think we're gonna be fine in terms of the WR position.

They are all solid players. Kumara is the best of the lot.

None of them compare to Baldwin, however, in terms of ability.

Samardzija was easily jammed by good defensive backs playing in good schemes. He could find the end zone, though. I am hoping to see more from these guys in terms of being all around receivers who can beat up on Michigan and USC the same way they do against Michigan State and North Carolina.

-----Please don't reference Scout.com and ask for info. I know it's a rookie mistake, but next time usually when people hear of something they'll post it on here without people asking.

come on guys. I'm all for bashing Mike Frank, but start a new thread. Don't take over every other thread.

I hope Baldwin chooses the Irish. He would be great at ND. I think he is a good ball catcher.

Is that better??

I know a lot of people have concerns at WR. I for one have a lot of faith that Charlie will make the guys we have now work. Look at what he did in New England with the WR. I think Baldwin is worth the wait and we shouldn't get to nervous and try to pick up others. Baldwin and Floyd would make me very happy.

Gosh this thread has been quite for a while, huh?

Anyway, looks like he'll be cutting his list down to three in the early fall, so we should know then whether we're in the running.

I've heard that ND is most likely in the top two, and certainly in his the top three. Suprisingly enough many seem to think Pitt may be a major player here as well.

I know he's from Pennsylvania, but can someone please answer me why anybody in their right mind would want to go play for Pornstache? He's a horrible coach, who, after his stellar collegiate debut against the Fightin' Irish, got beat by perennial powerhouse Ohio University. Who's only great fame was a BB player named Gary Trent, you know the "Shaq of the MAC". I can't fathom Pitt being a major player for anybody with any kind of talent, but I know he's picked some up. He sucks, and as long as he's there at Pitt, they'll suck as well.

----He's one of the best recruiters in the country and his first recruiting classes are just becoming upperclassman. I think he'll do great things at Pitt and he's just an overall good guy that recruits want to play for. Slam him for what? He finished like 10-6 most seasons at the Miami Dolphins and the AFC was so tough it wouldn't cut it for the wild card and they had the Pats in their division. Then he takes over a bad Pitt team and recruits like a mad man and now he'll turn it around.

I don't think he's a very good coach either, he might be a nice guy and a good recruiter, but I don't think he'll turn Pitt into anything close to a power house. You're still pretty young IK, so I'm doubting you can remember what the Bears were like under him as well.

Sorry IK, I'd have to seriously disagree with you on this one. He absolutely killed the Bears in the mid 90's. Trust me I know. While he had some decent years with Miami, those were teams that were put together by Jimmy Johnson. He ran that team into the ground as well. And while he may be recruiting well, he really does suck as a head coach. That is no lie. As a D-Coordinator, he is OK, but he's a joke of a Head Coach.
