The last score I saw was Aliquippa Quips 48 - Jeannette Jayhawks 63 and that was in the 4th, so it looks like Jon's season ended topnight which really sucks for him but he did have a very good game. At the time of this report he already had 3 very nice TD catches against at team that had only given up 44 total points all year.

Sounds like a great game. I would love to watch it. Who knows, it could be like watching Vince Young vs Calvin Johnson during their SR year in HS. That did not happen, but this did. Those two (Baldwin and Pryor) could be special, and I'm not talk in short bus special.

I just read that since Carr announced his retirement, Baldwin took Michigan off his list. I didn't know they were still on his list. I thought it was down to Pittsburg and ND. But I guess the less people on the list, in theory the higher the chance he will commit to ND.

It looks like Pitt, ND and Miami are his remaining three.

He publically had a list of about 5 or 6 schools but everyone connected to the situation has been reporting for some time that it's really down to a Pitt and ND race.

The fact Baldwin cares so much about getting his ACT score high enough (he took it a second time and made sure ND received his 2nd score) give me the impression we have just as equal a chance as Pitt.

If I was leaning one way and the other way required me taking a test, I just might forego the mental punishment since I was already leaning the other way.

Perhaps that's just me.

There seems to be a lot of confusion surrounding Jon and his test scores. I think one of the reasons for confusion stems from all the mixed reports. Just a few weeks ago he told II (Rivals) that he recieved a score of 1130 for his two part SAT test, a score that would be more than enough to qualify him for ND according to their coaches. But more recently the guys on Power Hour have mentioned that they're not sure if he's fully qualified for ND yet, and right now they thought a test score was holding up any possible visit, then again Scout came out with an article that raised questions about his ACT score.

I guess I'm not sure what to think on this situation. I would've thought that if he already has a qualifying SAT score then there wouldn't be any need to even take the ACT.

Nope, that is exactly what I have been thinking too!

Does ND require the ACT or is it optional or an alternative to the SAT?

Reason i ask is that it used to be here in California that Univ of Cal at ___ required the ACT and SAT while Caf State ______ only required the SAT.

TAKE THIS FWIW!!!!
Pitt on Baldwin's final list
Friday, November 23, 2007
By Mike White
Aliquippa receiver Jonathan Baldwin has narrowed his list of colleges to three -- Pitt, Miami and Florida.

Baldwin recently dropped Notre Dame from his final list.

"They really haven't been recruiting me any more," Baldwin said.

Baldwin said he will most likely make official visits to his three finalists.

Mike White is the High School beat writer for the Pittsburgh Post Gazette. It is unlikely that he would have directly misquoted Baldwin in an article published in the PPG. Here is the direct link to the article.

It might be because Walker and/or Robinson are already on board ...

or maybe just because he has the measurables doesnt mean he is that good? IDK i want him the most out of the 3 WRs, but maybe just because he has nasty measurables doesnt mean anything. Dropsies maybe?

I'm not too happy that we "stopped recruiting" Baldwin.

Keep in mind, that's Baldwin's interpretation.

From what I hear, Baldwin "forgot" to send his SAT scores to Notre Dame.

IMHO, you are being gullible -- for believing a 17 year olds side of the story, especially when Notre Dame is doing really well in recruiting this year. We can't take Gerrell, Walker and Baldwin this year. Even if we could, we're better off saving spots for EE next year. If that EE gets us a 5* corner back (anyone remember Justin King???), then I would gladly miss out on a 4* WR.

True...but honestly, I think that Baldwin not being recruited anymore lends itself to the "silent recruit" theory that is being brandished on all of the sites! We have one from either Deion or Gerrell and I think that we will get the other!!! I think that CW and company told Baldwin that the ND recruiting bus has left the building!!! You snooze, you loose!!! But still I wish Baldwin well, what a player he could and probably will be!!!

(As far as I know) neither Deion Walker or Gerrell Robinson is a silent verbal.

Well, even if they're not silents, it may be that the staff thinks we're in really good shape with both of them, and that they're viewed (by the staff) as better prospects than Baldwin. They're not going to lead the kid on if it looks like they won't have room for him.

It's pretty late in the recruiting game to decide he's not that good, after all the time the coaching staff has put into recruiting him. I would think they either have a silent or an academic issue with Baldwin.

If we stop recruiting him we theres no way one of the other two, robinson or walker is not already commite, CW has said from the start he wanted 3 WRs right ow we have to known verbals i'm not buying that one of the others isnt a silent for a second if we stopped recruiting baldwin. but thats just me

well now espn is saying it too

Jonathan Baldwin now only considering three schools

Class of 2008's No. 1-rated tight end prospect Jonathan Baldwin is now only considering Florida, Miami-FL, and in-state Pittsburgh, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
He said of the Fighting Irish, who were recently dropped from his list, "They really haven't been recruiting me anymore."

Well that's a good sign. That's better than him just dropping us like Sabino when we were recruiting him hard. That means we are sitting pretty with Gerrell (Who is getting visits up the ass as we speak) or some other WR.
