Hope you're not a Hillary supporter because using your logic above-

Hillary is a compulsive liar. She has lied over and over again about serious stuff and even petty stuff. She's even lied about lying even when shown clips of her lying (I don't think I need to post the videos). With the logic you presented above I assume you believe that Hillary will lie to us over and over again as president and when asked will lie about lying. She will lie to us about small stuff and even stuff that might put us in danger. How is that better than Trump?

Please if you truely have a distaste for one of these candidates.....

Gary Johnson > lesser of 2 evils.

Every president in my lifetime was a liar. The Donald is one too. I've just accepted that being a liar is a prerequisite for being a Presidential candidate nowadays.

I'm getting so sick of your stupid psychoanalysis of me and my posts. If you think I'm deranged, why the hell do you insist on commenting on my posts? Just fuck off already.

To be fair, it wasn't exactly a classy analogy. In the spirit of democracy...it's probably better if you both put each other on ignore though.

Would probably be an improvement. That's not praise for the Donald, it's an indictment of the current Browns organization.

Overall, some of these were pretty lazy, some were decent. I thought these were good:

Put your hate and vitriol away for a minute and look at the points made in his speech last night. That is some good shit. Tons of which is completely counter to the Republican standard. He opened doors for all Americans there - the only groups I can see that might have legitimate fear are illegal immigrants, aspiring illegal immigrants, violent criminals and foreign countries who are not pulling their own weight (i.e. most). I have not seen a platform that I agreed with more - ever. Far from perfect but a hell of a lot closer than the normal empty promises, nation building and bible thumping bull shit the Rs normally put out.

Music after his speech - "You don't always get what you want - but if you try real hard - you get what you need" - hilariously poignant.

LOL at the bolded. Every time I talk to a Trump supporter, the easiest and fastest way to get them to STFU is to ask them HOW Trump plans on doing all this nonsense he puts out. i would love for any Trump supporter on here to answer these simple questions:

1. HOW will Trump defeat ISIS "quickly"? What's the plan?

2. HOW will Trump get Mexico to pay for building a wall? (notice for the first time he didn't say Mexico would build the wall last night? Maybe that moron has finally figured out that a 3rd world country will not pay for a 30 billion dollar wall).

3. HOW will Trump reduce the budget deficit? How can he do that when he has promised to add BIG-TIME to the military budget, give MUCH more to the veterans, boost Social Security and Medicaid, while not cutting entitlement spending at all (which takes up 2/3 of the budget) and cutting taxes across the board in a big way? His plan literally makes zero sense and would only add to the deficit. And if you don't believe me, here's an article from a conservative group:

Details and Analysis of Donald Trump’s Tax Plan | Tax Foundation

4. How can Trump and his sheep claim he cares about the Constitution, while in the same breath Trump wants to ban all Muslims from entering our country (strike 1) AND threatening the 1st amendment by threatening to open libel laws so he can sue reporters who write things about him that he disagrees with? THAT is your Constitutionalist???

5. And let's say you believe Trump's sudden shift that he means he will only ban Muslims from countries with "a history of terrorism"...which countries is that? Does that mean Egypt too? France? Germany? Ireland This isn't a game where you can just be extremely vague - which countries EXACTLY?

I could go on and on, but I'll stop there. Don't worry...I know you don't have any answers. Just like Trump. Y'all been had.

well and that whole..."the 80s called and want their foreign policy back" thing...yea...that came true too. He benefited from similar blindness to details and perceptions on other fronts...

On the economic front...meh, unemployment numbers are bs...labor participation is kinda an indicator you need to look at with unemployment to get an idea of "health" there.

Salaries still have not recovered....thus the fight for burger flippers to make 15 bucks an hour.

Gas prices are a double edged sword now...petroleum extraction and refining are actually a bigger part of our employment economy...so gas prices drop, they start laying down drilling operations, and lay folks off by the hundreds...that was never all that significant, but now that makes an impact on unemployment/participation. So while we enjoy the lower gas prices...we find ourselves in an odd place because that hurts the economy in other ways. Still a national net gain, i'd guess, but regionally, that is brutal.

Stock market...free money...not real. Whoever is in office when the music stops will see massive corrections...guessing the Fed is waiting for the Donald or Lucifer to do that.

my point...meh. If it were Romney I'd likely be kinder to him...but still think this isn't a good recovery.

I would say that it hasn't been a great recovery but to your points:

Labor participation was always going to start dropping around now due to baby boomers retiring. Now some of the labor participation is due to jobs (but some of it is also due to lack of skilled workers as there are significant number of jobs that haven't been filled due to lack of qualified applicants).

As to the wages, well it started dropping under Bush, bottomed out during the recession and finally started making some gains the past two years. Is it back to were it was? Nope, but it is on the upswing currently.

I agree with you on the gas prices but was a double edged sword back when Romney promised to get it under $2.50.

Labor participation...yea acknowledged to a degree. still a number of boomers < 65 that aren't in the work force. There are some jobs that go unfilled...for sure

wages...yea, all I can say is, things have not come back...bush had 1/8 or less time to effect any kind of policy to deal with the situation...shrug. Maybe he or Romney would have...maybe not. What we know is, they weren't there, and it didn't happen yet.

Gas prices...regardless, we need to be in place where there are enough jobs in other industries where falling gas prices don't cause us pause. When the chief commodity that drives your economy is viewed less as a commodity(where cheaper is better), and more a key employer...thats bad. In some sense it probably was that way for Romney...and may well have been that way now regardless. But whomever is at the helm, they need to focus on creating an environment for industry/jobs. That takes us to all levels of regulatory discussion, protection of IP, and trade agreements...and I see that going into a Donald discussion...so, I'm good.

Question #1 - Mr. Trump, how will you defeat ISIS? Answer - Quicker and Faster. Better than anyone else.
Question #2 - Mr. Trump, how will you get Mexico to pay for a wall? Answer - Mexicans love me.
Question #3 - Mr. Trump, how will you balance the budget while expanding programs and cutting taxes? Answer - I know how to do it. I'm the only one that can do it.
Question #4a - Mr. Trump, how can you defend the constitution while banning Muslims from entering the country? Answer - I love the constitution. No one loves the constitution more than I do.
Question #4b - Mr. Trump, wouldn't suing reporters for printing things you disagree with be a violation of the 1st Amendment? Answer - Who asked that question? Grab hold of that reporter, so I can sue him. And if you want to punch him a few times as you throw him out, I won't tell.
Question #5 - From which countries would you ban Muslims from entering the USA? Answer - Countries with Muslims in them. What the ---- kind of question is that? Are you from CBS? Who let you in here? We will all be safe behind the wall the Mexicans are going to build for us. What do you mean the wall won't go around the whole country? Can't those Mexicans do anything right?

I don't for one second think he has all or even most of the answers. I do believe he has ability to set goals and get better people involved in addressing all of the above. I am also not a f-ing Pollyanna who thinks he can run the country with a pen and a phone with complete disregard to the Congress and the Constitution - in that regard you can only view Hillary as a continuation of Obama! Trump tries that shit and he will be impeached by both sides in a heartbeat.

#1) I suspect 80% empty rhetoric but I have little doubt he would be tougher on terrorism and getting other countries to pony up real support than Hillary. He is clear that he is anti nation building unlike Hillary that has a hand in more regime changes than Bush.

#2) I don't buy the rhetoric and symbolism of this wall you fear so much. The reality is he will apply resources and real goals to the PROBLEM of illegal immigration - find it offensive if you will that something like 70% of the country agrees there is a real problem with illegal immigration. If we spend $100 billion less on foreign circle jerk wars and $50 billion more on controlling our borders I think that would be a pretty good tradeoff worth making.

#3) Because Hillary is going to spend less than Trump? H-dog and dems (and traditional Rs) have had infinite shots at attacking waste and abuse. Why not give Mr. "Your Fired" a chance to get departments to squeeze some fat out? Every candidate over promises and has the same spending / income gap as you are whining about. I know for a fact Hillary is not going to reform corporate tax code or work to repatriate $2 trillion of corporate profits to the US. Build a better corporate tax code to make companies WANT to be in the US instead of back door escapes to foreign jurisdictions and you just solved a lot of problems. Not sure he can get that done but at least he isn't afraid to try - and I have heard both sides say they want to do this but NEVER take action.

#4) Libel laws - Yeah Trump can be a bully to the press and haters. You think he uses the IRS to bully people (cough cough) and Congress sits idly by? Trump will have no room for this type of hijinks. AND IT IS ALREADY BEING DONE SO WHY DO YOU THINK HE WOULD BE WORSE THAN BHO or HRC IN THIS REGARD? Maybe press needs a slap in the face to get th

#5) Don't understand how the Constitution applies to non-Citizens and I know you don't understand the concept of putting Americans first. No immigrants from the Middle East - how hard was that? Just take more from other areas - not like there isn't a virtually endless supply of people wanting to come here. Once we can vet them worth a shit - which would probably be never - open the line back up. Assimilate and learn English - embrace our way of life or stay home. Why is that so offensive of a concept? Why immigrate if you do not have that intention?

But hey - if you think you have a more honest player in Hillary then good f-ing luck to ya, pal. You think her policies are all pure gold, again good f-ing luck. Your inability to separate personal attacks from policy and logic is kind of embarrassing. Some one offended you and you jump in bed with Hillary, everything else be damned. Holy thin skin Batman. Exactly why the Dems will ramp up the race baiting to a new level - it works on a certain segment pretty well and then they can continue to abuse the blind supporters for a few more years.

The answers don't matter - never have. Hope and Change anyone? Obama was the emptiest suit ever and people lapped it up! Hillary's details? Puhlease

You folks don't understand the ridiculousness of your demands for "details" - WTF difference does it make when the GOALS are completely contrasting? Start with the goal and work towards it - may be why politicians suck and governing.

I know you don't understand the concept of putting Americans first.
This is probably my biggest issue with Trump. I think he wants to put Americans first, and I believe that the POTUS should do just that. However, I think the things Trump wants to do in the name of "Americans first" will do much more harm than good for those same Americans. For example, Trump blames globalization for the loss of American jobs. While outsourcing is partly to blame, the bigger problem, such as it is, is automation. America is manufacturing more than we ever have, we're just doing it with fewer workers. Thus, his promises to bring these jobs back through protectionist trade policy and bully tactics are nothing more than empty words that will increase prices and do nothing to make America work again.

Right. You can call Hillary a liar; she certainly has her faults. But I honestly don't think she is much worse than most politicians in that regard. Adam Gopnik called her an ordinary liberal politician last week, and I tend to agree. I really don't get the level of hate that gets thrown her way. Many of the criticisms are deserved, but the hate level is way out of proportion to the seriousness of the conduct for which she is being criticized.

Yeah. The interview transcript that the NYT ran this week in which he was asked how he would get the Turks and Kurds to work together, and he answered, "meetings," was infuriating.

Well, first, we need to understand who they are. ISIS is not just a jihadist group, they're an apocalyptic group. They want to trigger a showdown in a city named Dabiq between the West and themselves which they believe will trigger the arrival of their messianic figure.

And I'm not saying that's what's going to happen. The reason why it's important to understand that is because these are not groups that are just going to go away on their own. They are going to have to be defeated. And I believe they need to be defeated on the ground, by a ground force, made up primarily of Sunni Arabs.

It will take Sunni Arabs to reject them ideologically and defeat them militarily. That will require a coalition of Iraqis and Syrians, that are also Sunnis, but it will also require the cooperation of Jordanians, Egyptians. We should ask more of the Saudis.

That will need to be backed up with more U.S. special operation forces alongside them. And it will have to be backed up with increased air strikes. And we are going to have to strike them, not just in Iraq and in Syria, but in every other part of the world where they have now created hubs of operation. They have affiliates in over a dozen countries across this planet. They have a sophisticated network of radicalizing people here in the homeland and around the world.

But it all begins by taking away their their safe operating spaces with a ground force that a U.S.-led coalition takes on.

Because they currently occupy Sunni cities and villages. Sunni cities and villages can only truly be liberated and held by Sunnis themselves. If they are held by Shias it will trigger sectarian violence. The Kurds are incredible fighters and they will liberate the Kurdish areas, but Kurds can not and do not want to liberate and hold Sunni villages and towns.

It will take Sunni fighters themselves in that region to take those villages and cities, and then to hold them and avoid the sort of sectarian violence that follows in the past.

And why that is important is because if Sunnis are not able to govern themselves in these areas, you are going to have a successor group to ISIS. ISIS is a successor group of Al Qaida. In fact, they broke away...

... from Al Qaida, because as horrible as Al Qaida is, ISIS thought Al Qaida was not radical enough. This is who we're dealing with, and they have more money than Al Qaida ever had.

Well, the problem with the Sunni forces in the region is they don't trust this administration. This administration cut a deal with their mortal enemies, the Shia, in Iran. It poisoned the well with these countries. It makes it very difficult to cooperate with them as a result.

They also, by the way, understand what real U.S. air power looks like. They saw the Iraq war. They saw, up close, also Afghanistan. They know what air power looks like when the United States is committed to the cause. And they see the airstrikes that are being conducted now, and they say to themselves, that's not real (ph) commitment. We know what real commitment looks like.

The -- the Jordanian king was in Washington three weeks ago. He told everyone who would listen that they have begged for permission from the coalition to target caravans. And the coalition -- meaning U.S. leadership on the ground...
Trump: Bomb the oil, take the oil.

What might have been...

1. If he is going to be tougher, then he will have to send in 100,000 troops or so. Good luck getting congressional approval for Persian Gulf War #3. And once you're in, how do you get back out without the same result?

2. But all Trump has said is that he is going to build a wall to keep Mexicans out. If he plans on stationing a hundred thousand troops on the Mexican border, let's hear that plan from Trump. If he's going to apply economic sanctions on Mexico, let's hear him say it. As of now his only plan is to build a wall and export 12 million men, women, and children. How is he going to pay for the wall? Let's hear his plan.

3. No, Hillary doesn't have all the answers. However, she has proposed raising taxes on the wealthiest as a way to raise funds. She has also proposed investing in alternative energy sources and creating energy jobs in Appalachia and other coal-producing areas where jobs are declining in the coal industry. Hillary's numbers may not add up, but at least she has some plans. Trump has no specifics for doing much of anything.

4. As far as I know, Hillary hasn't prohibited the press from her any of her rallies and speeches. She certainly isn't riding a wave of positive media clippings. If anything, the press has been more aggressive in its questioning of her. She's got lots of issues and they are aired out in public and have been for the past 25 years. I hope Trump is asked some specific questions in the debates with Hillary. He survived the primaries with name-calling. Hopefully, the press won't give him a pass on hard questions.

5. No immigrants from the Middle East sounds simple enough. What about all the Muslims living in England, France, Germany, etc. What about the Muslims in friendly countries who allow us to build military bases on their soil? What about Muslims already living in the US who leave for a few weeks to visit relatives in their homeland? What about Muslims from African countries? What about immigrants from other countries that are safe havens for terrorists, many of whom are not Muslim? Perhaps, we should ban all Catholics. You know the I.R.A. and all that.

The bottom line is that Trump has half-baked ideas or no ideas at all. That's why he can't explain his plans. He hasn't thought beyond the title page of his policy manual. The devil's in the details.

I am also not a f-ing Pollyanna who thinks he can run the country with a pen and a phone with complete disregard to the Congress and the Constitution - in that regard you can only view Hillary as a continuation of Obama! Trump tries that shit and he will be impeached by both sides in a heartbeat.

Set goals and get better people to do the job? First, you think he thinks there are better people than him? You must be the most gullible person of all-time. 2nd, as this campaign has shown, he has a HORRIBLE record of hiring people for government roles. It took him two months (a lifetime in campaign terms) to fire Corey Lewondoski (sp), who was running his campaign into the ground. That idiot was basically tied with Hillary and poised to pass her easily as she was still battling Bernie Sanders, and instead he accused an American judge of being racist while Corey was in his ear telling him to keep after it. Everyone was telling Trump to fire his incompetent ass and yet Trump wouldn't. By the time he finally fired him, Clinton opened up a pretty sizable lead. This is just ONE example of how screwed up his organization is. He is hiring and firing people quite often because he hires the wrong people, or the good ones resign because they see what a screwed up organization it is.

He hired the communications director who thought it was smart to retweet a tweet with the star of David, that originated from an anti-Semitic and racist Twitter feed. Brilliant.

He hired the speech writer who was so good at her job that she plagiarized a part of Michele Obama's speech word for word, and thought she could get away with it. Brilliant.

He hired the campaign manager (Manafort) who lied through his teeth for two days that the speech wasn't plagiarized, even though an hour after his last lie about it, the speech writer released a statement admitting her stealing of the speech. Brilliant.

He hired the people who read Ted Cruz's speech and STILL allowed him to say it, thus completely overshadowing his VP's moment.

He hired the moron who is his adviser that went on a rant stating that Hillary should be put in a firing line and shot. Yeah, great for his neanderthal followers, but not true Americans who believe in the Constitution.

I could go on and on, but the point is crystal clear. Other than his daughter, he has been a fucking disaster in hiring people. And his foreign policy advisors list was universally panned as "WTF? Who are they?"

#1) I suspect 80% empty rhetoric but I have little doubt he would be tougher on terrorism and getting other countries to pony up real support than Hillary. He is clear that he is anti nation building unlike Hillary that has a hand in more regime changes than Bush.

So, you admit it's complete BS. No plan. And yet his sheep believe him. Embarrassing.

Again, you admit he's full of shit. There is no "reality" with Trump. You have no idea what he will do, because his whole campaign has been about this wall, and you admit it is BS. You're just HOPING he will do that, but he has given zero indication he will. Another lie you are buying.

#3) Because Hillary is going to spend less than Trump? H-dog and dems (and traditional Rs) have had infinite shots at attacking waste and abuse. Why not give Mr. "Your Fired" a chance to get departments to squeeze some fat out?

Because of all the other crap he brings to the table, that's why. And again, you admit he's full of shit. Not exactly a ringing endorsement.

Unfortunately I have to go as the family just got home. Basically all I get is that Trump is full of shit and you know it, and Hillary is worse. For a million reasons I don't have time to get into, there is NOBODY worse than that fraud, Trump. As bad as Hillary is, he is still somehow worse. He's a fucking reckless clown.

Some quotes from his speech last night:

Are these not problems the left wants to fix?

Are you suggesting that Trump is for the poors?

Seriously tho, this was the first time he mentioned some of those things. He is clearly pandering to Bernie supporters. He also mentioned him a couple times in his speech. Even he seemed stunned when he vocalized his support for LGBTQ rights (when did "queer" become acceptable again? Just recently began hearing it and was confused.) and people clapped. Of course be framed it all around terrorism, so I guess I shouldn't get ahead of myself. He needs those Berners to have a shot. My guess is they ain't biting in any significant way, despite the pandering.

What words would you use to describe HRC? Truth is, we can't be sure one way or another what we could be getting with The Donald. We know 100% what we are getting with HRC....the single worst person in the world.

So for months people argued against Trump saying that he's not even a real Republican, he's playing everyone for fools, blah blah. Now he comes out and supports some liberal viewpoints, that I would assume you agree with, and now he's just pandering? Which is it? Too bad he didn't pull a bottle of hot sauce out of his pocket like Hillary to try and pander to the black voters as well.

Donald is an entertainer. Thursday night's speech was a performance in which he read his lines well, nothing more. No conviction, just an acting performance from the ultimate con artist.

You can't have it both ways. You criticize his "bad" positions as if they're legitimate but you dismiss his "good" positions as artificial.

That's fine if that's your opinion I totally get it, but it's disingenuous to then turn around and critique the positions you don't like. If you think all he's doing is pandering and trying to win by entertaining then you can't cherry pick what pieces of his platform you want to take seriously.

Edit: Wiz beat me to it

Wikileaks Releases Nearly 20,000 Hacked DNC Emails

This is just the tip of the iceberg. Apparently they will be releasing a new batch every day until the DNC.

I didn't think this was possible, but DWS might actually be a more despicable human being than Hillary.
Can't wait for these ads to start running.

That's because his speech Thursday night was not the same Donald we've seen for the past year. He spent a year making racist statements, degrading women, ridiculing a Vietnam P.O.W., mocking a handicapped man, etc. Then, he gives a 75-minute "performance" suggesting he's going to help everyone have a better life. Give me a break. The man is what he is, and it ain't pretty. I guess if I was living in a cave for the past year, I might believe some of that speech was sincere. But I've seen too much of The Donald to believe he's out to help anyone but himself.
