You need to look at Jordan Pouncey's film. You guys are obviously looking at some other Pouncey's Hudl account.

Agreed. Pouncey isn't even close to the player he'll be in a couple of years. Love his upside and work ethic.

I'm blown away about all the Jordan Pouncey scrutiny on here and his rankings. His film is VERY good. Even better competition and his offer list of high-four-star-ish. He's one of my fave recruits

I don't think there's a lot of scrutiny. It's fine for some to like a prospects film more than others. It's also not shocking that you are in love with an ND commits film. You might have more favorites in this class than ND has recruits.

I like Pouncey more than Tarik Black. Black looks more and more like a very average receiver the more film I watch.

I'm sorry if my positive attitude about ND recruits disappoints you. I'll try to make some more cry baby pessimistic posts to try to fit in here a little better.

Mercy and GB still feeling A&M?

Actually I don't really know who he is going to pick. I don't believe it's a slam dunk to ND though

I watched Young's film for the first time last night and was really impressed. We seem to really struggle recruiting the slot and after CJ Sanders leaves it's pretty much Michael Youngs job

UPDATE

Actually I'm going with ND, Hammister thinks it's Oregon or ND and I am about 98% sure it's not going to be Oregon after Kirk Meritt left

Add Young and OSB and this class at WR is pretty stacked. I'm pretty up in the air about Pouncey and even Tarik Black at this point. I just don't see what others see withr those guys.

You know, I might not think Black is as good as others but the dude has an NFL frame/body.

I like watching camp videos because you can see more details about route running and hand placement. I think he's exceptional in those areas, for this stage. Lacks top end athleticism, speed, agility, etc. but I see very little down side to him. He'll be a good W WR in our offense. Not good enough to move around, but I don't see OSB being that guy either. Very good compliments to each other, with Young perfect for the slot.

So we are looking at

Pouncey
Young
Black
OSB

Then hope for an elite guy like DVP? I really like this WR class no one is elite but I think they all compliment each other very well like Lucky said

I think Black has a low ceiling but I also agree that there isn't a lot of bust in his game.

You dont see that physicallity that often from Wrs. I want to see him work in the slot more often in the film. But I like having real receivers in the slot position

Young also told him that regardless of his commitment, he'll take a couple of OV's in the fall.

Driskell thinks that he chooses A&M on Wednesday.

I think Driskel is great at film and Xs and Oscar, didn't know he was dipping his hand in recruiting. I don't know how he'll be at it. Hopefully he's wrong on this one.

He's picked up some slack recently with Andrew Ivins leaving BGI. They brought on a new guy who I think they are getting up to speed so Driskell can go back to what he wants to do.

Driskell thinks our wide receivers this year will be better than last year. He knows nothing, period.
He said that the group as a whole could be better, and I think he included Alize as well. If so, I could see it, because Chris Brown, though I love the guy, didn't get as much production as I was hoping.

I don't see that as that crazy. With Hunter, ESB, CJ and others, there is a chance that could happen. We might not have a WR as good as Fuller but we could have a more talented WR group this year.

Especially if you include Jones in that group.

Fuller and Brown were good last year. Hopefully they are better this year but hard projection based on lack of production

I haven't watched much of this kid's film, but I'll take him. If he commits to us I hope we are still sitting good with Black and OSB....more OSB than Black.

I think our WR group has the potential to surprise people this year. Fuller and Brown will be missed, but someone has to step up.

**Sorry for the off-topic**

Fuller had 1258 yds
Brown 597
THJr 363
Carlisle 351
Prosise 308
Robinson 200
Alize 190

It's conceivable to see:
THJr - 800+
Alize - 500+
ESB/Holmes - 600+
Sanders - 500+
if we have 2-3 additional 2-300 yd guys, then we'll be fine. It all depends on whether or not we can count on 1-2 players to create separation on the majority of their reps. If that's the case, then we will see Kizer distribute the ball with ease.

Let's hope our OL can pass block as well as last year.

Bottom line is that if we don't find a deep threat the passing game numbers will be significantly lower and we'll be using Yoon a whole lot more

Stop being Debbie Downer!

If we dink & dunk all the way down the field and score using more clock, BVG's shortcomings are left on the sidelines and when called into service, are at least well rested.

See what i did there?

I haven't been a big fan of what Driskell has put out there lately. He's quickly becoming the Skip Bayless of 24/7.

I think the offense is going to look a lot different this year. They're going to lean a lot more on the intermediate passing game and the running game. With nobody taking the top of the defense, it's obviously going to make everything that much more difficult.

I don't necessarily agree that those two have to be mutually exclusive. Does having a deep threat like Fuller help, certainly. However, its also not the only way to manufacture offense. It might take more plays and involve more players but, again, I don't view them as mutually exclusive.

The best way to score TDS rather than kick field goals is to run the ball effectively. I hope a deep threat emerges early so safeties have to play honest - it'll help the running game and give Alize more room to work the middle of the field.
