What are your favorites?

My favorite is Polish horseshoes but I have just recently discovered Kubb or Viking Chess. Making a game set now.

Any other good ones out there?

I play lots of bags.

Can Jam is really fun. There's also another game I play with a Frisbee and a pole but I'm not sure what it's called.

Beersbee. Can jam - haven't heard of that one. Maybe it goes by a different name. How do you play?

Beer di is the greatest drinking game that never made it out of Wisconsin. It takes up 75% of our yard games. We literally didn't play beer pong in college because of beer di.

The Frisbee and pole is what we call Polish Horseshoes.

What is this Beer di that you speak of? Never mind. Beer Die. I found it.

I've played Beer Die? Like with the short table and a die.

It's the most popular drinking game at a lot of colleges

The version I play has a beer can on top of the pole so I think it is called Beersbee as Koon said.

Can Jam is similar to Beersbee but you basically try and get the Frisbee into a trash can looking thing. The can has a slit in the front that is worth more points. Your partner is allowed to tap the Frisbee into the trash can.

I'm trying to think of how to explain it. I'll explain the function of the game without any of the drinking rules, because there are too many.

Two teams of two, each with a chair on opposite ends of a ply wood board on saw horses. Your teams face one another the long way of the board.

The point of the game is to throw the di at least 6 feet in the air and half way across the board, and have it drop through the other team's hands (but between the cups that are on the corner like field goals). So basically, you need to catch the di, which comes at you at least 6' high, then nicks the table on your end.

It's hard to catch the di, it's hard to throw it perfectly, and there's lots of fumbling when it comes down the middle between the two players. It's very competitive and I'd liken it to taking laser fast ground balls (even though the di starts in the air), but while sitting and with a teammate there to get in your way.

The drinking rules are too many to list.

Yeah, I've seen this then. It looks like a harder version of beersbee. You guys have to try beer di sometime. Meet me in the parking lot of the MSU game and we'll find a way to play. Everyone loves it immediately, it just sucks when girls want to play because they cannot catch anything and the whole point of the game centers around catching fast moving di that are coming hot off of the table.

I've played I think every major game a number of times. Kubb (fun), beersbee (also fun), baseball, bags, beer pong, nothing comes close to beer di. I'll try to find a video on youtube later tonight but I'm not sure it's well known game.

So it looks like there are some videos on it on youtube, but I cannot access them at work so cannot post or verify they're 100% accurate. I'll try to do so later.

I just watched a video and it looks fun. Is the six foot rule just a general rule that only gets enforced if its egregious (like no elbows in beer pong)?

The singular of dice is die not di isn't it? I feel like I'm taking crazing pills reading Koon's posts.

We'd fight about it too much, so we took two poles to set on the side at the '50 yard line' of the table, and strung a line across that was at 6'. If it went over, it's good. If not, you drink. We're too lazy to do the line now, so it's back to fighting.

Yep, same game. we use empty bottles on the poles. Two teams two people on each team. The object is to knock the bottle off the poles. Rules we play with are as follows.

1. knock bottle off the pole and it hits ground 3 points
2. Receiving team does not catch frisbee 1 point
3. Must have beer in one hand at all times
4. drink beer in hand

If the receiving team catches the bottle and the frisbee on a a hit, no points are awarded.

Drinking rules of beer di:

Drinking rules:

- 5 drinks to finish your whole cup
- if you say 5 (bizz) or 7 (buzz) you drink
- if it doesn't go half way you drink
- if it's not 6 feet you drink
- if it lands on the table and it's not a 5 up, you drink (5 up, shooting team drinks)
- if you overshoot the table you drink
- if it knicks the cup, it's a dead ball (meaning you cannot score on it after it bounces off of the cup), but you have to drink

One offs*
- if you hit the table, it goes 6 feet and half way, but bounces outside of the two cups on the corner, its essentially a dead ball - has to go between the cups to score.
- if it hits one cup (typically dead) but shoots across and hits the other cup too, its a point.
- if you sink a cup, it's a point and you finish your beer
- if both players score in the same turn, you get di back
- if both players score in the same turn, when the other team is 'returning' the di to them they slide the di across the table and if it lands as a paper football touchdown (very hard to do), you dont have to give them the di back because its negated.
- Each team gets one 'fair catch' a game. But when you 'fair catch' you are volunteering for you and your partner to finish your entire drink, and the trade off is the di that is in the air can NOT score. So for example, if it's game point and someone shoots a high arching di that looks like it's going to be tough to catch, you could burn your 'fair catch' so you save yourself in case you drop it. That said, when the di misses the table and the shooting team would otherwise have to take a drink for doing so and wouldn't have ended up scoring, you and your partner still have to finish your whole drinks. It makes for a GREAT argument when one team member decides its fair catch time :).

You butts who call Cornhole, Bags...

:puke:

Check out KanJam, it's probably the funniest drinking game I've played, so long as you're playing with people who know how to play.

We had a "beer Olympics" recently. Bags tournament, beer die, beersbee, can jam, baseball, flippy, and beer pong. Great time. Another great drinking game is hockey or 20, both games are great end of the night games when you're just looking to get trashed and/or get rid of the remaining beers.

Arrogance is also a real fun drinking game, fun to take advantage of people's egos in that game

Not yard games per se but my favorite drinking would be: beer die, quarter hockey, baseball, land mines and flip cup.

Are you talking the beer di I'm describing above? Or something totally different? Or a variation of what I mentioned above?

If you play the game I'm talking about, high five (or should I say high bizz).

Boom cup is my 2nd favorite drinking game. Like quarters, but with a pong ball with many cups in the center and a couple of different rules. Very fun, but one you play like 30 mins before you go out because you can get drunk quickly.
