No Cage in 18 barring a medical redshirt I would think. Unless you mean Cage the Younger.

You are correct sir. I meant to say Bonner but was going to throw in the possibility of Cage the Younger (I like it) ending up in SB if/when Tufele goes to Columbus and i got discombobulated.

Need more coffee.

I still want another guy to replace Jarron. I don't see anybody on the roster who can make the plays he does. Do you?

Jillery has the physical skill set. I have the feeling he's not all in. Besides that I'd give MDT the chance but he's a complete unknown and fair or not, I have zero expectations for Tiassum.

He's very erudite relative to many football players. Definitely seems like he at least appreciates the degree value. His interview described ND in the way of a person who 'gets it.' I doubt he'll bounce.

Agree with this. Very excited to see what he can do once he gets on campus. Not worried about his NLI.

I'm totally feeling this. So far MDT, Tiassum and Mokwuah don't give me the impression of championship level NG's/DT's. This, our question marks regarding pass rush and Mack/Mike LB depth are what worries me. In a perfect world, someone emerges as an effective, big bodied DT to replace and understudy Jarron. Cage will be a great compliment to Jarron this year but given his stature and weight, he's a mid-level snap guy and I believe Jillery is definitely more suited for DT than NG. Let's hope Gilmore finds a way to get these boys on the bench ready!

I thought that MDT has practiced was at the 3 technique. There are just players like Jillery, Bonner and Hayes (last year, now he is DE) who are a head of him. I still have high hopes for MDT.

No love for Elijah Taylor?

Yes. Thanks for this. For some strange reason I always forget this kid. Like Ewell, he was a highly ranked DT of a similar stature. Although not as freakish, I believe he was one of those all-muscle next to no fat 6'4 285 types. Wouldn't surprise me at all to see him emerge in the mix of DT's this year.

Elijah Taylor was said to be running #2 at 3T behind Tillery for most of Spring. Gilmore did say that it was close but if he had to pick who the #2 was, it was Taylor.

I thought Taylor was going to play NT. Will he backup at at 3T till Cage is gone and then slide over to NT?

Have you heard any news on MDT?

Also don't forget Kareem could slide down to 3T one day also.

Really? I would've thought he'd be far too small for that. I know he was only an EE but I found him very disappointing in the spring game. He needs weight room, film room and reps.

No idea. I'm sure the staff has some ideas on who will play NG when that time comes. I think Ewell will be in that rotation. MDT and Taylor are probably options as well.

That previous information wasn't new info, I just remember Gilmore's interview from the Spring. He was being pressed for who was where in the rotation and he was being fairly vague.

MDT would be who Taylor is battling with for the 2 deep 3T position. I have no new info on MDT.

Not this year or next year. But a few years down the road.

Did you see him play on the Semper game? He dominated the competition.

I think Mike Frank was the one who said that Kareem tried to put on too much weight before EE'ing. I'm not worried about the kid; he just needs time.

No I didn't. That's good news. Kid was a top recruit, once committed to Alabama. I'm sure he's gonna be solid. I have a feeling he's going to get a lot bigger and more developed physically and end up a stud starting SDE in his JR and SR seasons.

“Notre Dame speaks volumes for itself with the tradition and the environment,” Ewell said. “You really got squirrels coming up to you. Come on now. You don’t see that every day. I feel real safe there. It’s a prestigious school that I value greatly. I really see a great opportunity.

MTD is actually developing pretty nicley and we need to remember he's a redshirt freshman. He's got the size, it was always going to take him a couple years to reshape his body and get him ready to play at this level so no need to write him off just yet. Mokwuah well as someone told me I'll just keep it out of respect for him but he's struggling mightly. Tiassum I have never understood, I really, really hope we rotate these guys this year and Kelly isn't so loyal to his starters like he has been in the past.
