GB does not want, "we have enough 6'3" WR's"

I don't want but I think Black is a talented prospect and would be a good one for ND. I kind of agree with lax and it's not like we need help with Holmes. I can't be the only one who thinks we have enough "tall" "big skill" WR's

OSB is my #1 want for WR for this class.

ND will fight until the end with Stanford for him and I think ND will win that battle.

I would take the combo of Black/Holmes.

Wiltfong in with the CB for the good guys. Wondering if we're getting that silent commit soon.

Holmes and Black would be a huge pull. I actually like Holmes more out of the two, but both are good athletes.

A WR class of Black, OSB, Pouncey, and Young seems possible and would be solid.

Yes it would be.

I don't think ND fans are quite as excited as they should be about the potential of adding Holmes. I think he's going to be a stud RB and underrated at this time.

We already have Robertson. Are we taking 5?

holmes is the perfect apb we need and actually we don't have someone with all of his skill set.....he is able to cut quick and make several moves, great speed and hands that can be more of a threat catching on a dump off

Probably the same people who weren't excited about CJ Prosise.

I believe that has been the plan for a while now.

FWIW, about a week ago Anna made the comment that Black was one of the biggest reasons Holmes will choose ND (not the other way around and assuming Holmes does pick ND)

Yeah supposedly it's all 3 but we'll see. I think we discussed this last month sometime, maybe we did it in the CJ Holmes thread. Be interesting to see if Holmes joins Black on any trips or if he shuts it down.

What are some recent cases of classmates coming together?

Jones and Fertitta

Not here yet but Hinish and Adams

Not from the same class but plenty of example of teammates a year apart (i.e. Randolph - Martini - Prosise)

I think they'll be different cases. Black is going to follow through on his announcement at the AA game. Therefore, he has a long time to give the illusion of an open commitment. I don't see Holmes making those statements and commitment, then taking a serious look around. Not even sure that Black is taking a serious look around. This has all the makings of ESB.

Just me, or do we have a very poor track record of landing recruits who also seriously consider Auburn?
One of those schools that's located in a very different aisle, so to speak. And if you're shopping in theirs, you're probably not buying in ours.
I realize there's a lot of confidence in Black. But this would seem to be a red flag, no?

As a WR, if you chose Auburn over ND, Stanford, Bama or UCLA, you are probably better at blocking than catching.

He may not go to ND but he'll never go to Auburn.

Hmm, think we got Folston over Auburn but rumor was he was going to go to Auburn on signing day but they said no (were full). Think Zeke Motta was a legacy to Auburn though I'm not sure if he had an offer there. Not sure about any others.

It's recruiting, so anything can happen but I'd be utterly shocked if Auburn was under serious consideration. He's enjoying the process. He's visited and planning to visit a lot of schools when all is said and done.

Bobby howard and randy moss. Oh wait.... Lol

Reps, I thought about posting those names earlier but figured most would say "Who?"

Back then ('95 I believe) "the man with no neck" was considered a throw in by many recrutiniks. Bpbby turned out to a valued producer with one of the most memorable INT TDs in ND history.

My point: the classmate thing is always touted as a reason the kid may come, but it doesn't seem to have much influence on kids choosing ND.

The Atkinsons were brothers.
God told Manti to come, though I'm sure Toma helped.

I think Fertitta being the alpha-male son of the billionaire owner of a fight league makes the situation unique. "Im flying in a private jet across the country of an unofficial, wanna come?"

It seems choosing ND is always primarily a decision you make for yourself. You follow friends to State U if you are looking for comfort level.

The year apart thing is a completely different dynamic, that is a lot bigger deal in my book. That's a guy you looked up to in high school, and now he's thriving in this new atmosphere and inviting you in. That really helps with the introduction to the school.
