Anna@Scout said HH and Foster were inseparable the entire evening.
I know some want Smith more but beating Stanford for a guy from the westcoast would be ok in my book. This is very good news.

I know I'm in the minority here, but I've watched both and listened to both in interviews. They are both tremendous talents, but I desperately want Sarell. His skillset, demeanor and style is exactly what I want in a OL.

A 6'7"/322# guard?
Coach D doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground.

We're in such great shape with so many OL this cycle that I'm already bummed out by who we're gonna miss out on cuz the bus will be full. Already have two commits and room for 3 mayyybe 4 more if the last is elite. So out of Sarell, Wills, Thomas, Davis, Smith and Hainsey...who gets left out? It seems like the first 4 are all very high on ND and ND is at least in the top group for the last 2. Obviously a lot of this comes down to who hops on board first but you have to think guys like Sarell, Wills, Thomas and Smith have a spot no matter what/when.
This OL class is just loaded and I don't want ND to turn any away cuz we're full and I also don't want any of these guys to be turned off because some other talented OL are already committed. Recruiting would drive me crazy if I were a coach haha.
One thing you have to remember is when you get a Sarell, Smith or Thomas (and already have your RT in Lugg) you most likely are promising them that you're shutting your OT search down. It's not like they need to stack the depth. On top of this class, you have McG & Bars w/ potentially 2 & 3 years left (most likely just 1 & 2), then 98 and a 96 Comp tackles of the future in the class ahead of you, both with 4 years left.
I don't see Thomas coming. He said in an interview tonight that UGa leads and he's expecting to compete for the LT job as a true freshman. The only thing he'll compete at ND next year for is to see who holds HH's clipboard.
That leaves Sarell vs. Smith. Sarell's a cross between McG and Q. He's a different kind of physical specimen. Smith is a great player on tape but he doesn't have the once in a generation physical skill set / length / size box checked like Foster. Plus, I think he wants to go to Ole Miss and play right away. If you can go to Ole Miss, then ND isn't for you most likely. Foster is going to ND, Stanford or Washington. UDub is the "worst" school on the list and it would be in the upper half of the B1G. It's a very good state school.
The best scenario in my mind is Sarell and Wills if HH can convince Wills to play guard. He can be a swing by name but he'd only play OT if ND had a rash of injuries knock on wood.
Davis isn't coming and as highly rated as he is, his lack of length scares me. Wills has the same body type and is at least 2" taller, maybe 3".
I'd have no problem with Hainsey either though I'd prefer Wills.
I'm hoping for Sarell, Wills, Lugg and Gibbons. That's a load following Tommy, Liam and P-Money. Basically all you need in '18 is Hoge's replacement at center.

Hopefully all it would take to land Zamir White would be a quick search of ND OL recruits in the past two years
No doubt. From recent draft performance... to current roster... to who's in the recruiting funnel... to coaching staff... no one can say they have a better offensive line program than ND.
And in turn, I would expect top 5 RBs to be super interested and yet, it doesn't appear to be the case.

Hard to argue with OSU track record with RB's
No picture better illustrates how much a picture can create a false impression of relative size. They make McGlinchyblook tiny
Graham (Wash.) Kapowsin five-star offensive tackle Foster Sarell talked about his three-day unofficial visit out to Notre Dame...
Graham (Wash.) Kapowsin offensive tackle Foster Sarell took his third unofficial visit of the spring last weekend when he went out to South Bend to visit Notre Dame.
Sarell had previously visited Stanford and hometown Washington during the spring and for now, Sarell is done with visits.
But he wrapped up his trip schedule with a visit that had him raving.
"It was awesome out there, I loved it," said Sarell. "It's a good place for sure and I definitely enjoyed my visit there. It was my first time out to South Bend. We were three days, but spent two real days there."
Sarell was on campus during Irish Invasion, and while he didn't work out, he got to observe offensive line coach Harry Heistand instruct.
"I also got a lot of time to sit down in his offensive line room and talk with him," said Sarell. "I had a great time with him and spent a lot of time talking in his office."
Sarell also talked with offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock.
"We talked a lot with Coach Denbrock and he's a good coach and a good man," said Sarell.
Then came some time with head coach Brian Kelly.
"We sat down in his office and talked with him and had a really good conversation with him," said Sarell. "We didn't really talk depth chart, but they could lose some bodies to the NFL and they feel like I could play as a true freshman. But they also said if I need a year to mature, they've had a lot of guys go to the NFL that redshirted."
With his trip slate done for the spring, Sarell will turn his attention to The Opening Finals in two weeks then begin to think about any other trips in the summer, if he even takes any more.
"In the coming weeks, I'll relax and then get ready to go to The Opening and have fun there," said Sarell. "I'm not sure about any more visits in the summer time. I'll talk with my family if we want to take any other visits, but there is nothing in cement."
Also not set in stone, but certainly expected to be taken, are official visits in the fall.
"I don't have any official visits set in stone, but I do know I'll take an official to Stanford, to Notre Dame and probably to Washington too even though it's just up the road," said Sarell.
So is it a three-horse race for Sarell, with the hometown Huskies, the recently visited Irish and the longtime factor Cardinal?
"I am definitely still considering other schools for sure," said Sarell. "Those are just schools I know I want to visit. I just really need to sit down and see what's a good fit and then kind of see how it goes and if I want to take an official visit there to another school, I will."
The five-star is the No. 1 ranked offensive tackle in the 2017 class and was the OL MVP at The Opening Seattle last month.
