Scout agrees with a flip being very possible. Denbrock, Sanford or BK talks to him every day. ND visit still #1. Planning to take visits to see several schools

Well, well, well.

Actually, this kid may be a bit ahead of them. Maybe not quite as physical as Black, but close. Don't you think?

Anyone make the Tate reference yet? If this young man adds mass easily and keeps his speed, I could see a RB/slot hybrid. He's very shifty and appears to have excellent balance.

Not sure I want a kid that committed to Baylor. No italics.

He's from Texas, Texas is down, he's a WR and they just had a 1st rounder, have a big time QB he'd be playing with, score 60 a game.

I can see why he'd commit to Baylor and still be a good kid.

Oooooooh... YOU"RE the guy who's glad Randy Moss couldn't come to ND. No italics.

No, Randy Moss chose ND and we denied him. Completely different.

I'm not saying he is a bad kid. I'm saying not sure he has his priorities straight if he thought Baylor was a good choice.

Not sure I can blame a WR for committing to play for Baylor, especially when no one knew just how ugly it was going to be when the hammer actually dropped.

I'd be running far away from any association with that coaching staff now, though.

I don't think I'm making my point clearly. If this kid thought Baylor was a good choice for himself, odds are Notre Dame is not going to work out for him. There is really nothing similar about the schools off the football field. So I'm just skeptical that ND would be the right fit.

Both private schools with uber small enrollments? Baylor has a student body population of 13K, ND 12K.

I mean that describes dozens of other schools. The culture is not the same at all. The academics are not the same at all (for football players anyway). I could go on.

Ahhhh I see what you're saying.

It would be interesting to go back and look at ND/Baylor signees that had interest/offer from the other school as well.

On the surface, I could see a kid liking both because they are both small, religiously-centered institutions with good offensive coaches. But that really applies mainly to RB's and WR's, and I know both schools were after some of the same RB's and WR's in the past few classes.

Well sure, but what school is like ND in culture/academics? None. So private, religious school with small enrollment is pretty much as close as you'll get. Just saying.

We flip kids all the time from schools that aren't like ND. Hell, we've taken a bunch over the years from USC, one even after he played for them a season.

I don't think that him originally pledging to Baylor says anything about his character. RG3 certainly seems like he would have been a good culture fit at ND, and he is the poster boy of Baylor.

Randomly when googling to see what Baylor's religion is founded upon, came across this discussion board with experienced opinions. Sounds like they're pretty serious about their religion. No italics.

Agree to disagree. My position is that I don't think he will like ND if he liked Baylor. Not trying to argue about it anymore though. We will just have to see.

That's fine, but honestly, the more research I did, it sounded more and more like Baylor is as close to a ND parallel as you'll find. Obviously still not on the same level, but who is.

I am going to offend some people if I expand on my opinion so I'm not going to.

Am l correct in saying, that the 2016 recruits can't get out of their LOIs even with all this going on?

As wooly mentioned, there are so many examples of ND players who committed to or seriously considered other schools. Guys like Nix, Nick Martin, Folston, and Fuller have been successful on and off the field at ND.

Then why would we recruit any kid in the country that would go to any $EC school, Pac-10, B1G & ACC school for that matter?????? Just because a kid decided to commit to Baylor doesn't make him a bad kid, or some one who's inclined to make bad decisions. Do you happen to know this young man? Or, anything about him for that matter????? We rail against anyone who ultimately picks Bama or tOSU because he won't get the same education as he would at ND. We bitch about kids who choose Meatchicken over us, because, while they CAN get a damn good education in Ann Arbor, most kids end up in general studies for 4 years. Stanford offers a world class education, only to play in front of 25k fans at home unless ND or Southern Cal is in town......... $hit, I could go on and on about every kid in the country who we recruit, and will end up choosing someone else. And let's not get started on kids who are committed to other schools and we stay in touch......the hypocrisy of it all

My comments were about Baylor specifically. Just Baylor. If you guys can give me an example of a Baylor commit that flipped to ND and had a successful career I will retract my opinion.

But don't we know that he did commit to Baylor and does like ND? He said it was his favorite visit.

Baylor was a non-entity until 4 years ago. They still don't get many recruits we would poach.

And most schools' classes have lots of kids that would not be great fits at ND.
