EgyptAir flight goes off radar en route from Paris

Literally was thinking earlier that their hadn't been a international disaster that recently. Crazy. The way it just disappeared without a distress warning or registered drop in altitude makes an on flight bomb seem like a real possibility.

I think we're all thinking ISIS, Taliban, etc., but a mechanical failure could cause a swerve and plunge. Having said that, if it swerved and plunged due to mechanical failure I would think the crew would have said something on the radio.

Yeah...the lack of any radio contact makes me think something happened suddenly. Prayers for the victims and their families. Just horrible.

Pretty sure it didn't just disappear. It's in a million pieces. Either from blowing up mid flight or crashing in the ocean/sea.

Disappearing just references the ability to track on radar.

Experts saying that's consistent with a plane that lost its tail. Looking more & more likely it was a bomb.

The debris previously reported as found in the area is not believed to be from the plane.

EgyptAir initially said on its Twitter account that the Egyptian authorities had recovered wreckage from the missing aircraft No. MS 804 near Greece's Karpathos Island.

But the head of the Greek air safety authority, Athanasios Binis, told AFP that debris found close to the area where the jet went down did "not come from a plane", a finding he said was confirmed by his Egyptian counterpart.

Because most people believe that their god(s) and views are the only correct ones and all else is heresy and must be exterminated... and there's no reasoning with beliefs that are above facts.

It wasn't a reference to any particular religion. Only an acknowledgement that some religions have one god and others have multiple gods.

I still don't understand but will leave it at that. Why "religion" results in mass murder is beyond me I guess...

Fundamentalism is a mental disorder; a crutch for the weak minded. It takes many forms, religious, political....and it always frees a person or group from critical thinking, compassion and reason. It allows terrible people to do terrible things while pointing fingers at others....because when it comes right down to it.....when evil people are forced to really look at what's wrong with the world.....the truth staring back in the mirror is too much to bear.
