Jimmy Clausen wore a reflective visor in practice for a few weeks after he got punched that one time

I miss Clausen . . . But am excited for the return of Golson and Zaire to shine when given the opportunity!

Badass, too bad they cant wear these.

It has to do with being able to see the eyes in the event of a neck or concussion type injury and not having to take the helmet off, moving the neck/head, for the medical staff to get a proper look. They look cool but understand the reasoning.

The helmets look so much better than the one that Clausen is wearing in the picture above. I love the visor as I wore one back in my high school days, but a reflective one doesn't make much sense anyway.

yes the reflective visor stops EMT's from seeing if a person's eyes are dilated.

Silver outline is odd though. Curious to finally see the real product.

I have to ask. Why is it that the tinted visors are illegal. I just don't see the issue. Is it because they see it as an unfair advantage? Or is it a uniformity issue?

Concussions and safety. Allows you to examine the player without having to take off his helmet too hastily

I have been surfing the inter webs and the UA stuff looks pretty cool. I see some new ND apparel in my future.

that and our coaches in high school said the ohsaa (ohio hs athletic association) wanted us off the field with active bleeding and the tinted visors would'nt allow the refs to see bleeding of the forehead, nose, etc.

OHSAA always told me it was for being able to see eye dilation.

Just dropped $500 at the bookstore yesterday on UA gear for me and the family. There is some great looking stuff and options. Soooo much nicer than the Adidas gear.

After seeing the practice jerseys with the white outlines on the sleeves and collars do any of you think they may possibly go back to the 90's jersey design with gold outlines on the sleeves and collars for home and blue outlines on the away? I think it would look good.
(not sure if it was 90'-99' maybe like 92'-01'?)

Those were the jerseys for the 1992 and 1993 seasons.

For the 1994 through 1997 seasons it was the same trim but with the golden dome at the base of the collar.

From 1998 until the last year of Champion in 2000 the dome stayed but the collar/sleeve design added a little striping pattern.

Personally, not a fan of the gold on the collar for the home jersey. I like the contrast from blue on the jersey to the shiny gold helmets. I don't mind the blue on the away jersey because it blends in well and is different without being too noticeable.

It would look awesome with the "old gold" color.

That's exactly what i think!

Really hope they do this.

I think y'all are reading way too much into it. The Adidas practice jerseys had stripes and other details that were completely unrelated to anything we ever saw on the field.

I got what you were saying.

I'm pretty sure the jerseys will be the exact same as last year except for the placement of the Under Amour logo.
