I agree completely. I think we've all probably made some split second decisions fueled by emotion that potentially could have allowed for that debate though, don't you?

I cannot recall ever trusting a driver in a 25 mph zone not to hit me, much less a sprint car on a dirt track. My kids aren't allowed to ride bikes in the streets like most nowadays. I make them use sidewalks, like my parents and their parents before them. Instead of "bike zones."
You can't trust some random driver to not be on drugs or alcohol. Or texting. Turning the radio dial. Etc.
That would be careless. Care less.
I wonder if him not taking off his helmet kept him in the thought maybe he was more invincible than he was, or kept him into thinking he was still somewhat in a car...?
