i disagree with that approach, if anything jaylon needs to slow down his rehab. no point rushing back, he needs to be sensible and and look at the bigger picture.

The Cowboys won't take any real unnecessary risks with him. They see him as the star of the defense and I think possible long term replacement for Sean Lee. They will give him as much time as he needs.

I think everybody assumed he wouldn't be playing in 2016, so I don't think it's that huge a deal.
Wonder if he should go to Europe and get stem cell treatments like the Forehead did when he was coming back from his neck injury. Seemed to help him.
I really hope he can get back to anything close to 100%. He was one of the best LB's in college that I ever saw. Easily the most athletic dude playing LB that I've ever seen.

If Jaylon, miraculously heals, the Cowboys could never live down the heat.
So saving a year is best for everybody.

I wouldn't say it's "not looking good". The tweet is click baity in a sense, as the injury he has probably shouldn't have significant improvement at this point. It takes a long time to recover from it and he wasn't expected to play in '16. They make it sound like he's off pace for recovery, which he is not.

Always be dubious of unarmed sources. And the wording alone is reason to pause. What exactly is "significant improvement" as opposed to just minor improvement?

In this day any professional sports entity that can capture any general fan interest outside of their base is in a positive cash situation. Look what happens to everyone from Super Bowl winners to even underdogs that win a big game.
Also, look at how many teams have taken a hit with the public relative to bad publicity from the criminals, rapists and sociopathic serial killers. Remember when the Dallas Cowboys used to be 'America's Team?' How much do you thing it cost the franchise in the heyday of the team whorehouse and Michael Irving's (et al.,) escapades?
Check the figures in the drop of the Dallas brand over those years. If you are the Yankee's, the Lakers, etc., you can afford to have the highest salaries in your sport, which tend to result in many more wins. When you drop that like a rock, as the Cowboys did it really affects your franchise value, and income ability for years to come. I believe experiences like the Cowboys, have led the NFL to send colleges the message that they don't want the talented but mentally ill players, anymore. Etc.
So the Cowboys have this really great guy. Fine human being. Who has maximum football talent. But his hurdles to overcome are injury. You lock everybody in with this one. Those cheering to see Jaylon win. Those cheering to see the Cowboys win. Those cheering to see Jaylon loose. Those cheering to see the Cowboys flame out. And if Jaylon and the Cowboys win? The fair weather, and incidental fans the Cowboys will gain will be unreal. The Cowboys will be at least the "America's team of old." If not a dominant NFL franchise from a brand value standpoint.
Remember Jaylon will play with number 54, which is no mistake. And more important, the fan base for the NFL is expanding, worldwide at a rapid rate. The world is taking notice of football. And this is one hell of an introduction with a story that bridges any or all language differences.
Lets watch Jaylon's story and superimpose the value of the Cowboy brand. Unless someone really shits the bed, they should both trend way up!

As much as it's a feel good story if his rehab trends the right direction, he's a cash flow negative liability right now. They paid him top Round 2 money, they paid a signing bonus, they have to replace him on this year's roster with another player so that salary is on JS's line. He's going to sell less jerseys this year than most players they would have picked in his place. For instance do you think Jaylon will sell more jersey's this year than Derrick Henry, Myles Jack, A'Shawn Robinson, S'ua Cravens or Mackenzie Alexander would have if they were Cowboys? People buy jerseys of producers.
As for turning the Cowboys brand into a juggernaut, that's like me going to work for Tesla to turn them around. They're the Cowboys, they didn't used to be America's Team, they are America's Team. Basically every poll you can look up will show them as the #1 NFL team. Forbes has them tied with the Yankees at #2 in the WORLD behind just Real Madrid, whose value is based on soccer & basketball.
I don't think his current VAR, (value above replacement) warrants the love. The Cowboys gambled, they are in the hole right now, they stay in the hole until Jaylon returns and out performs guys like Jack and Reggie Ragland. Lastly, Myles Jack is especially dangerous to the Jaylon story because the Cowboys could have selected him and he could turn out to be a very special player.
