Very fast. All State honorable mention... his mother can show you the plaque...

Plus third place 100 meter dash in his elementary school intramural track meet. Mom still has the ribbon. A bit faded, but still proof.

As with any elite player, this one will be a headache to follow, but hopefully it works out for the good guys.

Loy commenting on how recruiting is so fickle, quoting one of his sources on Beal: "I can't believe this is where things have gotten. It was done. Robert's family didn't want him to go to Notre Dame because his sister couldn't get in. It was over. Now here we are, a while later, and Notre Dame is likely the favorite to land him. It's crazy."

Based on talent/potential alone, who would you guys rather have, Kaindoh or Beal?

Beal, I think Beal has plenty of size and athleticism and he is currently a better football player, IMO. Because of his size, Kaindoh probably has more upside but, again, I think Beal has plenty of upside and better current skill.

Plenty of size to be a DE, but not enough to ever take snaps inside if we ever had to due to injuries or match-ups. I like a guy you can move inside/outside with easy depending on who you're playing and what package you're in.

Plus, Beal is basically the frame of Daelin Hayes who came in at 6'3", ~240.

Not saying you're wrong, but those are why I'd take Kaindoh.

The argument could be made that we have plenty of "tweener" DE's that can bulk up and/or slide inside if needed. What we don't have is pure, three-down DE's that can get after the QB. So the lack of versatility isn't as much of a detriment when it comes to recruiting DE for ND currently.

Beal.

For as long as Kaindoh is, he does not use his hands well, which would improve his game dramatically. Beal, on the other hand, is great at engaging and disengaging at will. Not to mention, Beal could add significant weight and strength to his frame which would only improve his already impressive game.

Also, most of Kaindoh's highlights have him playing from a 9-tech (and I don't think he goes farther in than a 7) so talk of him sliding inside is purely based on his size and not on anything he's been asked to do before or really shown an ability to do. Again, if he isn't good with his hands, he'll still get bossed around inside even if he is 6'6" 270.

I was just thinking about it. I don't disagree with anyone really. That is why I hope on signing day we get both!

I would take Beal over Kaindoh. Beal is a guy who can come in and start from Day 1 you could always slide Hayes to LB or play them both on the outside. Kaindoh is a little more of a project, raw talent.

Hayes is never going to be a 4-3 LB at ND. But BVG will drop him into coverage from his WDE spot along with a DT so he technically will be a 2-5 OLB on occasion.

I take Beal because he's still interested.

Mike Frank hinted about this on Power Hour 2 weeks ago. He said that Beal's grandma runs the show, and that she was still all about ND. That stuck with me and I slightly had the door open in my mind for Beal to reconsider ND. But I was thinking more like in the fall for a sudden OV, not this fast.

A commitment after II would be incredible, but would also be a giant headache for Beal, being in the South and having to listen to everyone beg him to go to an SEC school like Georgia. It would also once again let everyone know who they had to beat.

If after II, he states ND is back in it for him, it would be worse for us fans, but better for him, and in the long run, it might even be better for ND (and us). An early commitment and an eventual decommitment would suck royally. Of course, a commitment would ease our minds about DE recruiting and could help catapult the class to greater things, so of course as long as he sticks that would be ideal.

Shit, I don’t even know why I wrote this; I’m pretty much just thinking outloud and not offering anything new at this point, sooooo….#boredduringlunch

Well wouldn't it be better if he were to offer a silent after II, if he was so inclined?

As long as we get him to commit and stick, I don't care if it's at before, at or after II. The only thing better than having mom on your side is having grandma on your side!

While I agree, I think it will be quite a bit less now that he'll be at IMG, than it would be if he stayed at Norcross.

Had forgotten about this. Good point. Glad we've made some connections there.

Here is the importance of getting guys in the SEC footprint out of their hometown's and into IMG. Some quick numbers from 2015 to the present. (Info gleaned from Rivals)

2015

-13 DI signees-

1 - SEC school
5 - ACC South schools
7 - Schools outside of SEC footprint

2016

-19 DI signees-

4 - SEC schools
4 - ACC South schools
11 - Schools outside of SEC footprint

2017

-19 ... 3 star & higher recruits-

6 - Current commits ..... (5 B1G & 1 Big 12)
4 - SEC leans
2 - ACC South leans
7 - Outside of SEC footprint leans
13 - Total committed/leaning outside SEC footprint

Head coach Kevin Wright is from Indiana, Maurice Stovall is WR coach and there isn't one SEC guy on his staff. I don't think there are any SE guys on the staff besides Director Steve Walsh. It's like a safehouse for guys trying to escape the dragnet of the SEC. The other thing is it brings in players from around the country so it waters down the influence brainwashed kids from the SE have over the group. When it comes OV time, a guy like Dylan Moses might take visits to Bama, Auburn, UoF, UGa and his big road trip will be back home to LSU. He could ride his bike to those places. Other guys are going to go to ND, UM, OSU, PSU, SC, Oregon, Nebraska, etc and see something different and talk about all the different things they've experienced. If someone like Moses did all SEC OV's he would basically see everyone of his OV list again by his sophomore season unless he's influenced to step outside the box and head to South Bend or Eugene by some of the other All-American teammates.

My take... it's a great thing that Beal is at IMG.

It was posted just a few days ago.

Yore right, I misread the article. This per Rusty today lol

-News broke a little on Monday afternoon about Robert Beal and the possibility of him transferring to IMG. Right now from everything I am hearing this sounds like it may be heading into that direction. Now what does that do for UGA’s chances? That remains to be seen. I was told late on Monday that Beal’s sister, who will be key in his decision in the end, looks to be on tract to get into UGA. This is going to be one to watch for sure over the next few months.

Looks again like UGA sources hear one thing and Loy sources hear another thing.

Serious question -- has anyone ever decommitted from ND twice? I mean, I'm sure they have, but anyone have any idea who was the last?
