This is like the California kid who doesn't have USC in his top 5 but goes there in the end. We could all name a couple of those.
Actually, this is the fruit of Maryland jumping into the Big10.
- culturally, Maryland now has more in common with the NE than the deep south
- That's what you watch on TV up there;
- OSU beat Alabama in 2015, so there is no argument that its clearly second rate football
- John Harbaugh is beloved in Baltimore, and his crazy brother is the highly-successful coach now at Michigan
- Penn State is the closest power
Maryland is clearly Tier II,
BUT they have a little momentum with a new coach and they have the UnderArmor (Oregon of the Easte coast) thing going, ...
So it kind of makes sense, except for his not giving UMD a shout out.
I just assume that all the 5-stars from Maryland will be going to OSU these days, and I'm pleasantly surprised when they don't.
