Where's dwshade with the insider scoop when we need him?

I hope this is a joke...

As for the constant cancelled visits, I'd be irrate if I was on staff at UGA. This is getting ridiculous and at some point, you have to move on. I understand he's a kid and he doesn't owe fans anything, but respect for the staff and their time and resources is different.

I don't know who is pulling the strings here, and I'm not sure anyone truly knows. Hopefully this comes to an end soon.

Agreed, I think it's beneath UGA, Bama, GaTech, and Stanford to continue to recruit Robertson

Are u in daily convo's with them? One should not come on a message board and make such definite statements.

I am not.
I'm as misinformed as everyone else when it comes to this particular recruitment.

I doubt a real Stanford alum would refer to ND that way. Any educated person would recognize that ND, while not necessarily in the same league as Stanford, is nonetheless an excellent academic institution. A remark like that just betrays that person's ignorance.

A necessary condition of being a Stanford fan is being a Stanford alum. And a necessary condition of posting on Cardboard is being a Stanford fan.

I used to get way into recruiting and sometimes all butthurt when things didn't go how I wanted. At least a little bit. These days, I barely follow it, until national signing day. When they are confirmed Irish, I read into who we got. Until then.....

you don't deserve ND football success as much as those of us who follow recruiting

Robertson's brother did an interview with the Georgia rivals site and I'm confused even more.

– Decision expected to come in March.
– The family plans to take a visit to Stanford regardless if it's an official or unofficial. DRob still doesn't have the scores to get into Stanford school, which will prevent it from being an official unless he gets a high enough score when he retakes the test on March 5. He's apparently very very close. However, he says he will make a decision in March, but the scores from his test won't come back until May. Doesn't make sense to me.
– Robertson apparently wants to now also run track in college.
– Carlos Robertson on Notre Dame ... “They’re also a good school, academically, it fits him, his personality, the school fits him to a T. He could come in and play."
– DRob's mom had a relative who went to GT and is now very successful. She sees that and likes GT because of that.
– Alabama is still involved. Visit could happen.
– Georgia is still involved. Visit will happen.

Might be reading too hard into the tea leaves but this reads Stanford to me. First sat was not good enough. Second one was but was a large enough increase to draw questions. Is taking third one to "prove" results from test #2 are legit to get NCAA/clearinghouse off their back and he's admitted to the tree.

I don't see how that would prevent the Stanford visit from being an OV even if the NCAA was skeptical of the results. As was mentioned before, I'm thinking it's more Stanford stringing him along so he chooses somewhere besides ND. Who knows, though?

Can you not take an OV to Stanford until you've demonstrated you're academically qualified to go there? If so, that's got to be a Stanford rule, not NCAA. And that seems needlessly cumbersome (how do they recruit anyone who's not local or a slam dunk for admissions?), but whatever.
The whole Stanford recruitment of Robertson seems bizarre. But I don't really buy they're just stringing him along to keep him from us. Eventually there's got to be a yes or no here, and we're not going away.

The good news is that it does seem like Robertson and his family are serious about education.

my comment had nothing to do with it was an OV or not. Only about the taking of an additional SAT and the timing of his commitment between the 3rd SAT.

I see. Assuming the "Stanford only OVs those who are admitted / academically eligible" idea is actually a rule, to me, "admission to the tree" sounded synonymous with being able to OV there.

Yup, the kid has worked his ass off. I think it's safe to say no matter where he ends up he will be serious about his education.

Honestly I wish him all the success in the world yada yada but I just hope we don't have to play against this kid at Stanford. That's all I care about at this point even.

Well I mean we're gonna have to play against him in 2018 when he's at Georgia, or in '16, '17, and '18 when we see Bama in the playoffs, soooooo...
