This is terrible news; makes me sick. Hopefully it is a 'soft verbal'.

So does this mean that Ohio State has a Gorman pipeline?

Damn. I guess he wasn't lying when he said tOSU had been his dream school. When he didn't commit last week when he was offered I thought he might go through the process.

First thought is, him and Jerron Cage are a lot alike and Jerron just got shaded. I'm full court press today on Jerron. No reason for him to go to tOSU now.

A lot of talent out there. Jerron Cage, Breyon Gaddy, Eric Crosby, Darnell Ewell, Cam Spence, Fred Hansard and the other 4 star from Vegas, Greg Rogers. All of them are in ND's footprint except for Rogers who might sorta is just because of the ND / BG connection.

Or it could get worse for us. How many recruits visit OSU and leave hating the place?

Fair point. But in a vaccum, if a recruit has never visited ND or OSU, and visits both, I'll take our chances that ours is better. Obviously that depends on the recruit, hence the in a vaccum disclaimer.

Huge bummer as very few top 5-10 DT's are program fits for ND in any given cycle. He seemed to be a perfect fit. He was probably one of my biggest wants in this class do to need at DT for 17' and the fact that he's a heck of a prospect.

Here's a Scout article by Brandon Huffman from the middle of December. It was in writing for the word to see. I just thought the "was" was more telling.

"My dream school was Ohio State and I've been hearing from them more," said Garrett. "Oregon, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Florida State and Auburn have all been talking with me more about playing 3-tech for them."

That's true but this year there's a lot of good fits. Of course he was as good as any of them. On the bright side... this limits OSU being a contender for other DT's moving forward. If they move on Cam Spence or any of the Virginia guys, Cage becomes even lower hanging fruit for a flip. If I was Gilmore and the recruiting support staff, I'd be ON FIRE today.

I'd send Sanford and Daniel Cage to Cincy this weekend in ND One to take Mama Cage out for a night on the town.

Let Magic Mike do his thang!

And Ohio state kicks our ass again

The talent they get on the Dline and in the secondary is just ridiculous. You'd think they would save some for others.

With Nico now having at least 53 million in the bank hopefully he flys the whole Gorman team out to ND every weekend.

Keep going. Your list won't be very long.

Jaylon Smith
Mykelti Williams
Liam Eichenberg
Daelin Hayes
Shawn Crawford
Jimmy Byrne
Wimbush
Zaire

Those are some i remember OSU was interested in and at least mentioned by the recruits at some point in the process.

I've been thinking it for the past few days. I think OSU may end up with more than a handful of kids who will be top ten at their respected position, and a few who are the top.

If we think our 2017 class is shaping up to be big time; theirs is just scary. They will usurp Bama as the #1 class in the 2017 cycle.

All those recruits "hated OSU" after their visit?

My point is that if he commits without visiting and then visits, odds are he is going to like the school even more. Doesn't mean we can't flip him, but I think it's going to be harder than many people think.

Even if the kid had committed to us rather than the fvckeyes I would say the same thing. It is a long way until signing day.

Sigh... that's disappointing. Time to turn some heads and win some games! Last year was a giant step in the right direction, so I feel good that we can win with the guys that we are getting. Garrett and Pryor would be nice though.

He didn't say "the" Ohio state university, must be trolling them.

When will Meyer have "heart problems" again. Oh I know once the patients run the asylum like what happened at the end of his tenure at Florida.

They will have a crazy good class in 2017, comparable to the Ron Powel class at Florida which was the beginning of the end for his tenure at Florida. So I give him to 2019 till "heart palpitations" occur again.

I'm skeptical. We will see how things work out in the next few years.

But, absolutely hands down, no contest him and Saban are the best college coaches. In Fact two of the best coaches in any level of football.

over Billy B and guys like Tomlin and stuff? I disagree, I mean the NFL shook Saban so much he couldn't make it through a full season. Potato post man lol
