No I think it's just smart planning considering Velus Jones isnt visiting anymore and history says we probably don't close all others on the board. I'd like to see some other position groups looked at as well but Johnson is a nice player.

I think it's more of a read on Alloway.

That would be a first if we did. I wonder how some of these kids really feel getting courted at the last minute? If the kid has been an ND fan for a long time it probably doesn't hurt, but these others have to know they aren't the first or even second choice at times. I'd like to hear the coaches explain that one.

In most cases it's because one of two reasons. Either the kid decommited late in the cycle so ND got in after he did so. Or the kid is a late bloomer, in which case, he doesn't have a lot of quality offers already.

Johnson, Morris, Chidi O, etc. all fit that bill.

With just over two weeks to go till signing day, who do we get? There are some interesting storylines out there right now, but I have no idea who to beleive anymore. Would love to land any of our remaining targets with Robertson my number one want left on the board. Any thoughts?

This might not be the popular opinion and I don't think it will happen but it we strike out it wouldn't shock me. I still think we get Drob, he's got two weekends to visit his other three and he has nothing set up. Kelly going in home tomorrow? Either going to notch his recruitment or he smells blood in the water.

I don't have a clue who we end with. It's possible we get no one, it's possible we get 3 or 4 guys. We'll probably have a lot more clarity in a week.

Who really knows right now.

The one thing that sticks out to me is Alloway being off the board. Makes me think there is something solid with another slot WR, which would be Nate Johnson or hopefully Demetris Robertson.

The LB situation is a total WFKnows. I get the feeling that Jonah Morris is the LB alternate who they're going to let have his chance at WR just to get him to sign if or when they wiff on the Davis, Kelly, Robertson, Jones. If true, I'm good with it.

I think the odds are in this order:

Morris - 75%

Robertson or Johnson - 50-50 - One or the other but not both.

Kelly - 33%

Robertson - 25%

Davis - 5%

Alloway - ?% - In case everything but Morris falls apart and they circle back. He never ruled ND out publicly.

I am pretty much where Lax and GB are right now. We could fill the boat or miss out on everyone. Either way this is my favorite time of the year so I am just trying to get some signing day discussions going.

My hope is that we land:

Robertson
Kelly
Morris
Johnson

The remaining options just don't seem viable to me.
